In a major milestone for India’s aviation sector, Chaudhary Charan Singh International (CCSI) Airport in Lucknow has officially become the first airport in the country to be certified as an ‘Eat Right Campus’ by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI). This recognition highlights the airport’s commitment to maintaining exemplary standards in food safety, hygiene, and nutrition for travelers and staff alike.

The official certification, which is valid from March 24, 2026, to March 23, 2028, awards the airport a Three-Star Compliance Rating under FSSAI’s stringent evaluation guidelines. The certificate was formally presented to airport authorities by the Additional District Magistrate (East) of Lucknow, Mahendra Pal Singh.

Strict Evaluation Over Several Months

The prestigious certification was granted after an exhaustive, multi-month evaluation process. This included detailed pre-inspections by FSSAI officials, comprehensive capacity-building training for food handlers, and a final independent third-party audit of all food outlets, kitchens, and service providers operating across the airport terminals.

FSSAI Food Safety Inspector Nikita Agarwal confirmed that the rigorous evaluation specifically prioritized operational hygiene inside the kitchens rather than merely focusing on the aesthetic appeal of consumer-facing dining stalls. Key operational areas examined during the audit included the separation of vegetarian and non-vegetarian prep zones, rigorous sanitation schedules, and the strict implementation of color-coded chopping boards to eliminate cross-contamination. Major culinary hubs within the airport, such as the Semolina Kitchen and the Brio Art House (managed by Ramada), successfully underwent these specialized checks.

The Four Pillars of the FSSAI Assessment

To qualify as an official Eat Right Campus, an institution must show high performance across four fundamental pillars established by FSSAI’s “Sahi Bhojan, Behtar Jeevan” national movement.

  • Safe Food: Adherence to strict hygiene, correct storage temperatures, structural sanitation, and compulsory FSSAI licensing for every individual vendor.
  • Healthy Food: Active provision and promotion of nutritious, well-balanced meal options alongside clean, tested drinking water facilities.
  • Sustainable Food: Effective food waste management protocols, the systematic reduction of single-use plastics, and the promotion of local, seasonal ingredients.
  • Awareness Building: Ongoing educational campaigns and training initiatives focused on healthy nutritional choices for both operational staff and transit consumers.

Enhancing the Passenger Experience

With millions of passengers passing through Lucknow’s transit gates annually, ensuring public health through safe nutrition has become a core operational priority. This milestone guarantees that the food served across all airport lounges and public food courts meets national health safety benchmarks. It establishes a structural blueprint that other major metropolitan transit hubs across India are expected to replicate in the near future.+

Feeding the Soul Beyond the Material Platter

Human life routinely faces psychological stress, anxiety, and a deep-seated spiritual hunger that physical delicacies fail to satisfy. True sustenance requires a balanced alignment of clean material intake and pure spiritual food. Spiritual discourses highlight that the ultimate purpose of this human body is to seek supreme truth and spiritual enlightenment. By consuming pure, satvik food prepared with a clean consciousness, individuals cultivate a peaceful mind. This mental clarity serves as the foundation for practicing authentic spiritual path and devotion, as guided by Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj, which ultimately frees the soul from the cyclic struggles of material existence and leads to eternal peace.

Sant Rampal Ji is providing true spiritual knowledge and true Satbhakti that helps individuals overcome their problems and evils and finally the moksha (the eternal place) mentioned in Geeta adhyay 18 shlok 62.
