Agricultural land in Kumbha village, located in Hansi district, Haryana, had been severely affected by waterlogging for the past 7 to 8 years. During the rainy season, water remained accumulated in the fields for 3 to 4 months. As a result, farmers were unable to sow their crops on time and suffered significant financial losses.

To address this problem, the Kumbha Gram Panchayat had requested assistance from Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj.

Through Annapurna Muhim in Phase 1, Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj provided the following materials to Kumbha village:

  • 22,000 feet of pipeline, 8 inches in diameter
  • 3 water-drainage motors with a capacity of 10 HP each

The assistance provided in Phase 1 ensured water drainage in several parts of the village. However, approximately 500 acres of agricultural land remained affected by waterlogging. The total waterlogged area across the village was estimated at 1,100 to 1,200 acres, spread across different sections of 80 acres, 100 acres, and 200 acres.

Survey and Assessment of Requirements for Phase 2

To address the remaining water-drainage problem, the Kumbha Gram Panchayat submitted another request to Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj. Initially, the Panchayat had requested 44,000 feet of pipeline and 7 motors of 7.5 HP and 3 HP capacity.

Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj sent a survey team to Kumbha village under Phase 2 of the Kisan Mazdoor Bachao Abhiyan. The survey team conducted a detailed technical assessment:

  • All affected areas were surveyed using drone cameras and Google Maps.
  • Out of 7 waterlogging points, one point was connected to the first pipeline through a T-joint.
  • The remaining 6 waterlogging points covered a total distance of 5.6 kilometres, approximately 20,000 feet.
  • Based on the survey report, the requirement was determined as 20,000 feet of 8-inch pipeline and 6 motors of 10 HP capacity. The motors were from Kirloskar and Crompton. The report was then submitted to Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj.

Distribution and Process of Providing Relief Material in Phase 2

Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj approved the survey report and sent the required relief material to Kumbha village under Phase 2 of the Kisan Mazdoor Bachao Abhiyan.

When trucks loaded with the pipes reached the village, the Gram Panchayat and villagers, including representative Parmjeet, welcomed them with drums, a tractor rally, flower showers, and garlands.

Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj provided the following materials to the Gram Panchayat in Phase 2:

  • 20,000 feet of 8-inch PVC pipeline
  • PVC bands and iron bands
  • Air valves
  • Iron plates
  • Fevicol solvent, nuts and bolts, and rubber packing (Jain)
  • 6 water-drainage motors with a capacity of 10 HP each

The committee instructed the Gram Panchayat to release water while laying the pipeline underground so that the joints and any leakage could be checked. After the pipeline is installed underground, the survey team will conduct another inspection. Following this inspection, all 6 motors will be handed over to the Panchayat as per the instructions of Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj.

Restoration of Agricultural Land and Long-Term Water Drainage Results

Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj has arranged a total of 42,000 feet of pipeline and 9 motors through Annapurna Muhim and Phase 2 of the Kisan Mazdoor Bachao Abhiyan, providing a lasting solution to the waterlogging problem in Kumbha village.

This assistance will enable the drainage of water from the remaining 500 acres of affected agricultural land, allowing farmers to sow their crops on time and helping end the financial losses they have faced for years.
