JHAJJAR, HARYANA – When the darkness of administrative apathy joins a natural disaster, a Saint dedicated to the service of humanity emerges as the only ray of hope. For the two villages of Gubhana and Majri in the Jhajjar district of Haryana, Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj has proven to be such a divine force. Where floodwaters had submerged thousands of acres of crops and the future of farmers, Sant Ji’s ‘Annapurna Muhim’ has brought a new dawn.
Devastating Situation and Helpless Families
The condition of Gubhana and Majri villages was extremely pitiful. Stagnant, foul-smelling water ranging from 5 to 15 feet deep had accumulated in the fields. Monty, the Sarpanch of Gubhana village, explains that out of the village’s total 12,000 acres of land, about 1,000–1,100 acres were completely submerged.
Thousands of farming families, whose livelihoods depend entirely on agriculture, were on the verge of starvation. The situation was so dire that children could not go to school, and even the paths were flooded with 2 feet of water. Villagers had no dry land left to sow the next crop, nor did they have dry fodder for their cattle. Due to the lack of concrete help from the administration, farmers were forced to watch their ancestral lands turn into a wasteland.
A Plea for Help and Sant Ji’s Immediate Decision
When despair was everywhere, the Panchayats of both villages sent a petition to the Barwala Ashram of Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj. Seeing their plight, Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj immediately ordered the dispatch of relief materials. Remarkably, within just 5 to 6 days of submitting the plea, a massive convoy of aid reached the villages.

Views of Villagers and Sarpanches
After the relief materials arrived and the floodwater receded, there were tears of gratitude in the eyes of the villagers.
- Gubhana Sarpanch (Monty): “Both the administration and our own minds were blocked. We didn’t know what to do. But Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj sent everything within a week. Today, sowing has been completed on 1,000 acres of my village land. The entire village stands with Him.”
- Mange Ram (Elderly Farmer): “For us, Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj is God in person. Even the government doesn’t do this much work after making us do 50 rounds of their offices. If this help hadn’t arrived, the village would have been completely ruined.”
- Majri Sarpanch (Dharamveer): “Today, wheat crops are flourishing on 80% of our village land. The contribution Sant Ji has made is unparalleled. He has saved the dying farmers.”
- Manjeet (Villager): “There was so much water on the paths that it was difficult to even go to the fields. What the government couldn’t do, Maharaj Ji did at His own expense. Today, every household in the village is happy.”
Lush Green Crops Speaking the Benevolence of Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj
Today, the lush green crops standing in the fields of Gubhana and Majri bear witness to the benevolence of Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj. This service by Sant Ji shows that true spirituality is not limited to rituals but lies in wiping the tears of the distressed and rescuing society from crisis.
His ‘Annapurna Muhim’ has proved that if leadership is selfless, even the biggest disaster can be overcome. As a mark of respect, the villages presented a ‘Turban’ (Pagri) to Sant Ji, which is the symbol of the highest honor in rural culture.
