Agriculture and clean drinking water are the two most fundamental pillars of rural life. However, for the residents of Karor, a large village situated in the Sampla tehsil of Rohtak district, Haryana, both of these pillars had completely collapsed. The village was suffering from a devastating “double curse.”
Firstly, during every monsoon, the village lacked a proper drainage system. The accumulated rainwater and overflowing ponds would severely inundate approximately 300 to 400 acres of prime agricultural land. The toxic, stagnant water would even breach the residential streets and enter houses, destroying crops and property alike.
Secondly, and perhaps more dangerously, the entire village was plagued by a severe drinking water crisis. The groundwater and the local supply from the village reservoir (Diggi) were incredibly salty and hard. Villagers reported that consuming and bathing in this water caused widespread skin diseases, severe itching, and premature graying of hair. For the past three to four years, residents had to travel two kilometers on their motorcycles every single day just to fetch sweet drinking water for their families.
From Misunderstandings to Divine Realization
The administration had failed to resolve these pressing issues despite repeated proposals sent to the authorities in Chandigarh. Exhausted and desperate, a delegation of 20 to 25 village elders decided to approach the Satlok Ashram.
Interestingly, the villagers of Karor openly admitted that they had previously opposed Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj due to the rumors and misunderstandings spread during the Karontha incident. However, witnessing His unconditional, selfless service across Haryana building houses for the poor, providing free rations, and saving thousands of acres of flooded land their misconceptions were shattered. They realized that they had been misled, and approached the Ashram with genuine hope and folded hands.
Advanced Surveys and Immediate Action
The Gram Panchayat submitted their plea under two major ongoing campaigns: the Kisan Mazdoor Bachao Abhiyan Phase-2 (Save Farmers and Laborers) and the Shuddh Peyjal Sewa Abhiyan (Pure Drinking Water Service).
Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj ji immediately dispatched a highly specialized technical team. Utilizing modern technology like Drones and Google Maps, the team meticulously measured the terrain. They calculated the exact distance required to flush the floodwater towards the Dighal village drain and pinpointed the optimal locations to extract sweet groundwater.
12,800 Feet of Pipes and a Complete Overhaul
The relief that arrived in Karor within just three days left the entire district in absolute awe. To solve the waterlogging crisis, The Jagannath Mahaprabhu Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj delivered a staggering 12,800 feet of heavy-duty 8-inch PVC pipelines. To tackle the drinking water crisis, they delivered a complete setup for four deep borings (two 35-foot and two 70-foot deep), which would be combined to function as two massive submersible pumps.
The generosity did not stop there. The village was provided with one massive 20 HP motor for flood drainage, and two 5 HP monoblock motors for the drinking water supply. Furthermore, the Ashram supplied every single accessory required for the installation: Fevicol, air valves, PVC bands, iron plates, wooden blocks, and even the smallest nuts and bolts ensuring that the villagers wouldn’t have to spend a single penny.
A Village Reborn
The relief convoy was welcomed with a massive celebration. Hundreds of villagers, including ex-army veterans and village elders, gathered at the village borders with flower garlands, chanting slogans of gratitude.
Adding to the emotional atmosphere, it was revealed that Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj had also purchased a plot and built a house for a destitute man named Sajjan from the same village, under His ‘Annapurna’ scheme. Today, the village of Karor stands as a living testament to the fact that true spiritual leaders do not harbor grudges; they respond to hatred with overwhelming love, compassion, and life-saving service.
