After remaining submerged under floodwater for nearly five months, large parts of Siwada village in Hisar district of Haryana have returned to cultivation, with farmers resuming wheat sowing across fields that were earlier covered under three to four feet of stagnant water. Villagers said the situation had severely affected crops, homes, and daily life, while diseases had also started spreading in the village. The condition later improved after Tatvdarshi Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj extended support under the Annapurna Muhim by providing motors, pipelines, and complete operational equipment to help remove water from the affected farmland.

Villagers said they had approached Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj with a prayer for help after struggling for months with severe waterlogging and uncertainty over cultivation. According to residents, the village panchayat requested 8,000-foot pipelines and two motors, despite uncertainty over whether such assistance would actually arrive. Villagers later stated that the support reached exactly as requested.

Fields Once Submerged Under Water Show Signs of Cultivation Again

Residents of Siwada village said the flood situation had pushed farming activity to the edge of collapse. According to villagers, nearly every agricultural field in the village remained submerged under stagnant water for months, leaving farmers uncertain about whether cultivation would be possible again during the season.

During a ground report from the village, large stretches of farmland were shown where wheat sowing had already begun after the water was drained. Villagers stated that fields which earlier resembled waterlogged ponds had now started showing fresh wheat plants.

According to local residents, several parts of the village had water levels reaching up to four feet, while some farmers claimed water accumulation in their fields reached five to seven feet.

Panchayat Sought Help After Administrative Visits Brought Limited Relief

Villagers stated that officials, including the DC, MLA, and Tehsildar, had visited the village during the flooding period. Residents also mentioned that the irrigation department was working in the area. However, according to villagers, the crisis continued for months and uncertainty regarding farming remained.

Villagers Said Entire System Was Installed Without Additional Purchase

The support extended far beyond just major equipment. At a single instruction from Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj, His disciples arranged everything required to make the system operational, including starters, cables, elbows, suction pipes, rubber gaskets, adhesives like Fevicol, and even the smallest steel nuts and bolts.

As villagers themselves expressed, “We didn’t have to purchase even a single nut from the market to get everything running.”

Residents said the equipment reached the village during nighttime hours after sunset and was installed to begin the drainage process.

Farmers Describe Crop Losses and Recovery

Several farmers shared details about repeated crop losses caused by excessive rainfall and prolonged flooding. One farmer stated that his family cultivated around 11 kile of land and had suffered among the largest losses in the village.

According to the farmer, cotton crop cultivation initially failed after heavy rainfall. Paddy was later planted, but that crop was also submerged under water. Villagers stated that many farming families had started losing hope regarding cultivation and future income.

However, after water drainage operations began, residents said sowing activity restarted across the village. Farmers stated that nearly 1,000–1,200 kile/acres had already been prepared and sown with wheat.

Villagers also pointed toward visible water-level marks near handpumps and field structures to show how deeply the area had remained submerged earlier.

Residents Say Houses Were Also at Risk

Apart from agricultural losses, villagers said some houses in Siwada were also damaged due to water accumulation. Residents stated that several homes belonging to economically weaker families faced risk as water surrounded the village from multiple sides.

According to villagers, pipelines were laid from roadside areas and drainage lines were connected to remove accumulated water through motors. Residents later stated that most of the village farmland had dried up and wheat plants had started emerging across several fields.

Youth and Farmers React to the Relief Work

During interactions in the village, several youths and farmers described the support as timely assistance during a difficult phase. Some villagers stated that they had not expected such large-scale help to arrive.

Residents also referred to social initiatives associated with Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj, including anti-drug awareness efforts. Villagers said the flood relief support gave them confidence that cultivation could resume despite months of uncertainty.

Several villagers expressed gratitude, saying the assistance helped restore farming activity and reduced fears regarding further losses.

Wheat Fields Return to Siwada After Months of Flooding

Nearly two months after the relief support reached the village, residents said wheat sowing had resumed across large portions of farmland that were earlier submerged under floodwater. Villagers also stated that the pipelines used during the drainage process had been safely preserved for future emergencies.

For many families in Siwada, the restoration of farming activity marked the return of stability after months of disruption caused by flooding, crop damage, and uncertainty.
