Patwapur Waterlogging Crisis Resolved with Timely Intervention
SHARE

This incident from Patwapur village, located under Kalanaur tehsil of Rohtak district in Haryana, took place at a time when preparations for Diwali were underway across the country. While people elsewhere were immersed in festive joy, the farmers of this village were struggling with a deep crisis. Approximately 400 to 450 acres of agricultural land had been completely submerged due to waterlogging.

The standing paddy crop in the fields had been destroyed, and sowing of the next rabi crop, especially wheat, was becoming impossible. An elderly farmer from the village said, “It felt as if farming itself would come to an end. Water used to accumulate every year, but this time the situation was even worse.”

This situation had not developed suddenly. According to the villagers, this problem had persisted for many years, but this time it had become extremely severe. There was three to four feet of standing water in the fields, turning the land completely marshy. This waterlogging not only affected agriculture but also pushed the overall economic condition of the village into crisis.

Expansion of the Problem: Continuous Failed Efforts and Growing Despair

The farmers of Patwapur made several efforts at their own level and through government channels to deal with this crisis. Panchayat representatives contacted the concerned departments, submitted applications, and sought technical assistance. However, the help received was disorganized and insufficient.

At times, motors got burnt; at other times, lack of pipelines halted the work. Many times, due to the absence of electricity connections, the process of draining water could not even begin. These obstacles continuously weakened the hopes of the farmers. According to village panchayat representative Sunil Dhol, “We tried at every level, but no permanent solution was found. The farmers were completely broken.”

The situation had become so serious that the villagers had mentally prepared themselves to abandon farming for the year. The standing water in the fields and repeated rainfall made the problem even more complex. The village was going through a phase of complete despair.

Alternative Effort: Collective Prayer Before the Saint

When conventional systems seemed to fail, the village panchayat and residents collectively decided to adopt an alternative path. They resolved to present their problem before Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj.

A formal application was prepared on behalf of the Gram Panchayat Patwapur, clearly stating the requirement of two 10 HP motors and approximately 4400 feet long pipeline. This was not merely a request but a collective appeal from a distressed community, expressing the need for immediate resolution.

Prompt Response and Organized Relief Work

Within a few days of the prayer, a well-organized relief arrangement was witnessed in Patwapur village. A convoy of vehicles carrying necessary equipment arrived in the village. It included everything the village needed—

  • Two powerful 10 HP motors
  • 4400 feet long 8-inch pipeline
  • Starter, nuts-bolts, grease, and other essential tools

The most notable aspect was that the villagers did not need to purchase anything from outside.

The assistance was fully organized and sufficient. Villagers did not need to arrange additional resources. This ensured that there was no delay in starting the work, and the process of water drainage began immediately.

Technical Intervention: Effective Water Drainage Process

Using the provided resources, a systematic drainage system was established in the village. The pipeline was connected to a nearby drain, and water was continuously pumped out using high-capacity motors.

This process continued day and night. Despite the large volume of water, due to the efficiency of the equipment and continuous operation, the water gradually started receding from the fields. Within about a month, most of the area became free from water. Additionally, in some places, pipelines were installed underground as a permanent solution to prevent future waterlogging. Thus, this was not just temporary relief but an important step toward a long-term solution.

Result: Complete Sowing and Revival of Agriculture

After the drainage, the transformation seen in Patwapur village was remarkable. The land that was previously submerged was now filled with lush green wheat crops. According to villagers, this was the first time that almost the entire agricultural land of the village could be sown simultaneously. Earlier, due to waterlogging, many fields remained vacant or sowing was delayed, affecting production.

Patwapur Waterlogging Crisis Resolved with Timely Intervention

This time, timely drainage enabled farmers to sow crops on schedule, improving both crop quality and potential yield. The village sarpanch said, “For the first time, not a single field in the village remained empty. This is nothing short of a miracle for us.”

Community Cooperation: Help Extended to Neighboring Village

The farmers of Patwapur did not limit this assistance to themselves. After draining their fields, they shared part of the available resources—pipes and motors—with farmers of the neighboring village Balambha, where the situation was equally severe.

As a result, water drainage became possible there as well, and farmers got an opportunity to save their crops. This initiative presents an effective example of cooperation and resource sharing at the rural level.

Social and Economic Impact

The impact of this entire process was not limited to agriculture alone but had wide social and economic effects.

Economically, farmers were saved from significant potential losses. Revival of crops secured their source of income. Additionally, the resumption of agricultural activities provided employment to rural laborers. Socially, this event strengthened the sense of trust and cooperation within the community. The resolution of a long-standing problem boosted morale and developed a positive outlook for the future.

A Step Toward Long-Term Solution

The pipeline and drainage system established in Patwapur have strengthened the possibility of a permanent solution to a problem that had persisted for 15 years. Now, whenever waterlogging occurs, it can be controlled through the existing infrastructure.

This initiative can be seen as an important example in rural infrastructure development and water management, where a combination of community effort and external support led to a sustainable solution. Another villager, Pradeep, stated that for the past 15 years, waterlogging had been a recurring issue, leading to partial or incomplete farming, but this time timely assistance ensured sowing in every field, bringing peace and satisfaction to the village.

All villagers unanimously acknowledged that the motors, pipelines, and other resources provided by Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj not only solved the water problem but also secured their livelihood and future.

From Crisis to Solution

This incident of Patwapur presents a broader social perspective, where natural disaster, administrative limitations, community effort, and external support all appear together.

In this entire sequence, the assistance provided by Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj played a decisive role. This help was not limited to physical resources but contributed significantly to reviving a distressed community.

Ultimately, this event exemplifies how timely resources, organized efforts, and community cooperation can transform a major crisis into an opportunity.

Patwapur Transformed by the Grace of Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj

This incident of Patwapur village is not merely a story of technical solution or relief work, but a living example of extraordinary service and compassion that revived a sinking village. When there was despair everywhere, farmers had lost both their crops and their future, and no concrete solution was visible at any level, at that time the prompt and organized assistance provided by Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj completely changed the situation.

According to the villagers, it was not just about providing resources, but a support system that prevented them from breaking down. The land where water had been a permanent problem for years is now filled with flourishing crops—this transformation in itself is extraordinary. The villagers believe that providing such massive help without any selfish motive or expectation is not ordinary; only God can do such a thing.

Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj is not an ordinary saint; without expecting anything in return, He has distributed both wealth and resources together and provided society with a new direction and relief.
