Administrative Negligence and Farmers’ Helplessness
For the farmers of Ghevra Village, this year felt like a disaster. Excessive rainfall ruined their hard work. With 5 to 7 feet of water in the fields, not only were the current crops completely destroyed, but the prospects for sowing the next crop, especially wheat, were also null. A local resident, Mr. Kuldeep Rana, described the severity of the situation, stating that over 100 families were directly affected, most of whom are small farmers with 1 to 3 acres, relying entirely on agriculture for their livelihood. The atmosphere was filled with helplessness, pain, and despair.
Farmers could not understand how they would feed themselves and their families if the water was not removed.
At this critical moment, villagers sought help from administrative officials with hope, but were met only with disappointment. According to Mr. Rana, the administration claimed their inability by saying that the tender for water-pumping tractors expires in September, and no new tender can be issued after the rainy season. Villagers alleged that even if any action were taken, it would only be a token gesture. Removing water from 100 acres of land with a single tractor would be like a drop in the ocean. With no substantial support from the government machinery, the farmers felt helpless, and their future appeared grim.
Hope Sparked Through Social Media: Appealing to Saint Rampal Ji
When all avenues seemed blocked, a ray of hope emerged through social media. Villagers watched videos on YouTube showing Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj providing unprecedented relief to flood victims in Haryana, Rajasthan, Punjab, Uttarakhand, and Jammu & Kashmir through His “Annapurna Muhim.” Notably, in over 200 villages of Haryana, He provided farmers with free motors, pipes, and other equipment to drain water from their fields. Witnessing this, the farmers of Ghevra Village were inspired with hope. They immediately united and visited the Satlok Ashram in Mundka, Delhi, explaining their plight and praying to Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj for assistance.
More Than a Prayer: Saint Rampal Ji’s Vision
The villagers requested a 7.5-horsepower motor and 500 feet of piping from the Ashram. But the compassion and foresight of Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj exceeded their expectations. Ashram volunteers stated that their Guru Ji’s clear instruction is, “Give more than what the devotee asks.” The very next day, a large convoy carrying relief materials arrived at Ghevra Village from Satlok Ashram, Mundka, bringing tears to the villagers’ eyes. It was not just materials, but a living testimony of a saint’s compassion. According to villagers, the total relief materials provided by Saint Ji were valued at around 100,000 INR.
Relief Material Worth Millions Delivered Under ‘Annapurna Muhim’
The relief materials sent by Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj included not only the requested items but everything necessary to ensure the operation ran smoothly:
- High-Capacity Motor: 7.5 HP, a powerful, high-quality motor from Kirloskar company.
- Durable Pipes: Heavy-duty, 500 feet long, 6-inch diameter pipes to drain water quickly.
- Electric Cable: A 500-foot-long heavy electric cable to operate the motor.
- Auxiliary Equipment: Starter and all small and large tools needed for installation, including pliers, screwdrivers, and tape.
“Saviors of Farmers”: Villagers Express Gratitude
Seeing this swift and selfless assistance, villagers were overwhelmed. They called Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj the “savior of farmers” and “God.” A young villager, Mr. Himanshu Rana, described it as nothing short of a miracle. He said, “It must have taken just half an hour at the Ashram; everything was set up, and now look at the water in front of you… I think we won’t even need a week; sowing will start on schedule.”
Villagers emphasized that neither the government nor any other religious institution or trust had undertaken such work. One villager remarked, “There are many saints, but no one has taken such initiative… Nobody does this… This is Radhaswami All World… They never open a side… Gate is closed… What Guru Ji has done, no one else does.”
The villagers were also amazed that even while imprisoned, Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj managed such large-scale welfare activities. An elder said, “So much work was happening even when He was in jail… Once He’s out… it will be even bigger.”
From Despair to Hope: Wheat Crop Dreams Revived
The high-capacity pump installed by Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj began draining water from the fields within hours. Where there was 5 to 7 feet of water just days ago, the water level started falling rapidly. Farmers’ faces, once gloomy, now reflected hope. They realized they could prepare their fields on time and sow the next wheat crop. Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj not only saved 100 acres of land in Ghevra Village from waterlogging but also revived the hopes of over 100 farmer families. This incident demonstrates that true service and compassion can overcome any disaster.
