Years of Waterlogging Affected Farming and Livelihoods
Nagla Bagha village, which falls under Gram Panchayat Talfara in Kumher tehsil of Deeg district, had reportedly been facing severe floodwater accumulation for several years. Villagers and Panchayat representatives stated that nearly 250 bighas of productive farmland had turned into stagnant water bodies, making cultivation impossible.
According to local residents, the impact extended beyond agriculture. Some villagers said houses were damaged, livestock suffered due to lack of fodder, and many farming families faced migration and debt because cultivation had stopped. Residents also stated that schools and dispensary services were affected due to waterlogging in the area.
The village sarpanch said repeated appeals were made to authorities including the SDM, Collector, district officials, and local representatives, but the problem remained unresolved.
Gram Panchayat Requested Assistance From Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj
Village representatives stated that they learned about flood relief efforts being carried out by Tatvdarshi Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj through social media platforms, including Facebook and YouTube. Following this, the Gram Panchayat submitted an application seeking assistance.
According to the sarpanch, the request was sent through WhatsApp using the Panchayat’s official letterhead. Villagers said no lengthy paperwork or procedural delay took place and relief approval came immediately.
A flood relief convoy later reached Nagla Bagha village carrying equipment required for water drainage operations. Villagers described the rapid response as unexpected after years of waiting for a solution.
Flood Relief Materials Delivered Under Annapurna Muhim
Under the Annapurna Muhim initiative of Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj, the village received extensive flood-relief support aimed at draining stagnant water from agricultural fields.
Relief Material Provided
| Material | Details |
| Pipes | 2100-foot, 8-inch pipes |
| Water Motor | 10 HP Kirloskar motor |
| Cable/Wire | Approximately 500-foot cable |
| Generator Support | Generator rental assistance |
| Diesel Support | Fuel expenses arranged |
| Additional Components | Suction pipe, assemblies, clamps, rubber bands, steel nuts and bolts |
The support extended far beyond just major equipment. At a single instruction from Jagatguru Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj, His disciples arranged everything required to make the system operational, including starters, cables, elbows, suction pipes, rubber gaskets, adhesives like Fevicol, and even the smallest steel nuts and bolts. As villagers themselves expressed, “We didn’t have to purchase even a single nut from the market to get everything running.”

Villagers also stated that the village lacked a three-phase electricity connection and received limited electricity supply for only a few hours daily. Because of this, generator and diesel support was also arranged so the motor could operate continuously for faster drainage.
Panchayat Asked to Ensure Timely Water Drainage
Along with the relief material, a formal message was reportedly handed over to the Gram Panchayat. The communication stated that the supplied equipment should be used properly to ensure timely removal of floodwater and preparation for the next sowing season.
The Panchayat was informed that additional equipment could also be requested if required. According to the statement shared publicly during the handover, the objective was to ensure complete drainage of water from the affected land.

Village representatives assured that efforts would begin immediately to clear the submerged fields and prepare the land for cultivation.
Villagers Express Hope for Agricultural Recovery
Several villagers said they now expected farming activity to resume after years of uncertainty. Residents stated that wheat sowing could become possible once the water receded from the fields.
Some villagers described farming as the backbone of the rural economy, saying that when cultivation stops, both farmers and labourers are affected. Residents also linked agricultural recovery with food availability, livestock support, and economic stability in the village.
According to villagers, Nagla Bagha had not witnessed proper sowing for several years due to standing water. They expressed hope that the newly installed drainage system would provide long-term relief during future heavy rainfall as well.
Relief Efforts Extended Across Multiple States
During the programme, representatives associated with the relief effort stated that more than 400 villages had already received assistance under the flood relief campaign. The support reportedly included lakhs of feet of pipes, hundreds of water motors, and other necessary tools.
States mentioned during the interaction included Haryana, Rajasthan, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Jammu & Kashmir, where flood-affected communities had reportedly sought assistance.
A Village Looking Toward Cultivation Again
For the residents of Nagla Bagha, the arrival of flood-relief material represented the possibility of restoring agricultural activity after years of disruption. Villagers repeatedly connected the drainage work with their ability to cultivate crops, support their families, and revive rural livelihoods.
Panchayat members and residents stated that the assistance reached the village at a time when many farming families had nearly lost hope of reclaiming their submerged land. With drainage operations expected to begin immediately, villagers said they were now preparing for the next sowing season and looking forward to seeing productive fields once again.
