Kuleri Flood Relief Restores Farming in Hisar
SHARE

Months after severe flooding submerged large parts of Kuleri village in Hisar district of Haryana, farmers have resumed cultivation across hundreds of acres that had remained waterlogged for weeks. Villagers said standing flood water had destroyed crops, damaged farm dwellings, and left little hope for the next sowing season. The situation changed after Tatvdarshi Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj, under His Annapurna Muhim, provided large-scale pipe and motor support that helped villagers drain water from the fields. Today, wheat crops have emerged again across the village, restoring farming activity and economic confidence.

Villagers said the entire panchayat had travelled to the Barwala Office with a prayer seeking help. They requested 9,000 feet of pipeline and two motors to remove flood water that had covered agricultural land, roads, field boundaries, and dhanis. According to residents, the request was accepted immediately, and relief material soon reached the village.

Key Highlights From Kuleri Flood Relief Efforts

  • Kuleri village in Hisar district faced severe flooding and prolonged waterlogging
  • Farmers said nearly 450 acres initially remained submerged, while several villagers estimated the affected area between 600 and 800 acres
  • Floodwater reportedly stood 3–4 feet deep across fields, roads, and dhanis
  • Crops, especially cotton (narma), were badly damaged for consecutive seasons
  • Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj provided support under His Annapurna Muhim
  • Villagers received 14,000 feet of 8-inch pipeline in two phases
  • Two motors — 15 HP and 10 HP — were also provided
  • Farmers said the water was drained within nearly one month
  • Wheat sowing resumed across hundreds of acres after the fields dried

Floodwater Left Farmers Without Immediate Solutions

Residents of Kuleri village said the flooding created an unusual and painful situation for local farmers. Large stretches of agricultural land remained submerged under stagnant water for weeks. Farmers stated that roads, fields, farm boundaries, and dhanis were all affected as water levels rose nearly four feet in some locations.

According to villagers, one crop season was completely destroyed due to prolonged waterlogging. Farmers also said the groundwater level had risen significantly, making it difficult to naturally drain the water from the fields. Several residents explained that they had little expectation that cultivation could resume in time for the next sowing cycle.

One farmer cultivating nearly 60 acres said all of his land remained submerged. Another villager stated that nearly 600 acres in the area were under water, while others estimated that 700–800 acres across the village and nearby sides had been affected.

Government Assistance Included Electricity Connection

Farmers stated that they had initially approached the government for assistance. According to villagers, electricity-related support and transformer connections were provided, but pipes and motors required for water removal were not arranged.

Residents repeatedly said that despite visits by some public representatives, there was no immediate solution available to remove flood water from the fields. Villagers claimed many farmers had become financially distressed after losing crops for consecutive seasons.

Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj Provided Support Under Annapurna Muhim

Villagers said the turning point came after the panchayat approached Tatvadarshi Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj and requested assistance for flood relief operations.

According to residents, the first phase of support included:

Villagers later requested additional support after the initial material proved insufficient. They stated that a second phase of assistance was also approved.

Motor10 HP

In total, farmers said the village received nearly 14,000 feet of 8-inch pipeline and two motors.

The support extended far beyond just major equipment. At a single instruction from Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj, His disciples arranged everything required to make the system operational, including starters, cables, elbows, suction pipes, rubber gaskets, adhesives like Fevicol, and even the smallest steel nuts and bolts. Villagers said they did not need to purchase even a single nut from the market to make the system functional.

Farmers Said Water Was Removed Within a Month

Residents stated that farmers collectively operated the motors continuously for nearly a month to remove water from the village. Several villagers said the floodwater was drained not only from fields but also from dhanis and residential structures where water had entered homes.

Farmers explained that many families had temporarily left their farm dwellings due to flooding and shifted livestock and belongings to safer areas inside the village. After water was removed, families gradually returned to their homes and agricultural land.

One farmer said that without timely assistance, the village could have gone “10 years backward” economically. Another farmer stated that without the motors and pipelines, sowing would not have been possible across hundreds of acres.

Wheat Sowing Resumes Across Kuleri Village

Following the drainage operation, farmers resumed wheat cultivation across the affected land. Villagers said wheat crops had already grown nearly 4–5 inches in several fields. Some farmers estimated an average production potential of nearly 20 quintals of wheat per acre if conditions remained stable.

Residents described the revival of cultivation as a major relief for farmers, labourers, and families dependent on agriculture. Villagers also stated that pipelines were being placed strategically for future flood management so that water could be drained quickly if similar situations arise again.

Farmers repeatedly expressed gratitude towards Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj for what they described as timely assistance during a period of severe uncertainty.

Relief Work Restores Agricultural Confidence in Kuleri

For residents of Kuleri village, the recovery effort represented more than temporary flood relief. Farmers said the assistance helped restore agricultural activity, livelihoods, and confidence after months of uncertainty caused by flooding and crop loss. Villagers stated that large portions of land that once appeared impossible to cultivate had now been sown successfully with wheat. They also described the flood management support system as a long-term safeguard for future farming seasons.
