Chindhar village in Fatehabad, Haryana, has been grappling with a flooding crisis for a decade. Recent heavy rains submerged 3,000 acres of land and displaced over 100 families. Government efforts failed, but a bus driver’s tip sparked hope. Sarpanch Sumit Kumar Godara requested 21,000 feet of pipes and two 15 HP motors from Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj . Within days, a convoy of trucks delivered the materials, marking a permanent solution. This article explores how Chindhar’s crisis turned into a story of hope.
A Decade-Long Crisis in Chindhar Village
Chindhar village, near Bhunoi Baliyan in Fatehabad, has been suffering from waterlogging for 10-11 years. Sarpanch Sumit Kumar Godara described the situation as “pitiable.” Recent rains submerged 3,000 acres of agricultural land, destroying crops. Over 100 families were forced to seek shelter with relatives, taking their cattle and children along. Main roads were closed, preventing children from attending school. Dispensaries shut down, halting healthcare services, and fodder for cattle ran scarce.
Since 2010-11, government and local efforts have failed. The Sarpanch noted that demands got stuck in administrative paperwork, worsening the crisis.
A Ray of Hope: The Bus Driver’s Tip
The turning point came with an unexpected call. Sarpanch Godara learned about Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj’s relief work through social media. Then, an anonymous bus driver, identifying himself as a “servant” of Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj, called from Kharkheri Bhattu Road, advising the sarpanch to seek help from Sant.

Godara contacted local devotee, who showed the panchayat a service campaign in Nangal village, Ratia. Seeing a poor family’s house built overnight and debris cleared, the panchayat was inspired and decided to seek help from Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj.
The Request and Swift Response
Led by Sarpanch Sumit Kumar Godara, the Panchayat submitted a request letter to Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj in Barwala, asking for 21,000 feet of 8-inch pipes and two 15 HP submersible motors to channel water 7 km away to the Fatehabad and Kishangarh branch canals. Within four days, the request was approved.

The trust mobilized vast resources, and a convoy of 8-10 trucks arrived in Chindhar, carrying high-quality pipes, motors, starters, cables, and everything “from a needle to a mortar.”

Action and Transparency Directives
Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj issued strict instructions, conveyed by the trust to the villagers:
- Timely Action: The village must drain water before the next sowing season, or no further aid will be provided.
- Transparency: A drone video of the flood-affected village was recorded. Two more videos will be made-after water drainage and when crops flourish-to be shown at Satlok ashrams.
- Permanent Solution: The pipes and motors, described as an “invaluable gift,” must be buried underground to enable quick water drainage during future rains.
Sarpanch Godara accepted the conditions and promised timely completion.
