Heavy waterlogging during the monsoon has been a serious problem for farmers in Dahkora village of Bahadurgarh tehsil, Jhajjar district, Haryana. Hundreds of acres of crops, especially millet and paddy, have been affected by excess rainwater. Now, Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj has provided further assistance under Phase 2 of Annapurna Muhim to improve water drainage in the village.

A Long-Standing Waterlogging Problem

Dahkora has faced waterlogging for a long time because of inadequate drainage arrangements. During the rainy season, excess water collects in agricultural fields and affects crops. The problem has also posed a risk to public and religious structures in the village.

The village panchayat and farmers had sought assistance from government authorities, including the Chief Minister, concerned ministers and administrative officials. According to the information provided by the village representatives, no effective solution was received.

The gram panchayat and farmers then requested assistance from Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj. Through Annapurna Muhim, Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj had earlier provided 14,000 feet of 8-inch pipeline and three 10 HP motors for the northern part of the village. One of these motors was provided for drinking water supply.

Phase 2 Brings Help to the Southern Area

The southern part of Dahkora continued to face waterlogging. Village Numberdar and Block Committee representative Manjeet, the village Sarpanch and other residents again requested assistance from Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj.

Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj approved assistance for the southern area under Phase 2 of Annapurna Muhim.

The day after the request, a survey team inspected five important points in the southern area using drone and ground surveys. The purpose was to determine the required pipeline length and motor capacity for moving excess water from the affected agricultural fields to the Bahadurgarh Drain, also known as the Pak Drain.

Based on the survey report, 12,650 feet of 8-inch pipeline and five 10 HP motors were required. Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj approved the required assistance.

12,650 Feet of Pipeline Reaches Dahkora

On June 19, trucks carrying 12,650 feet of 8-inch PVC pipeline reached Dahkora. Village residents and panchayat representatives welcomed the material in front of the Shiv Temple.

Along with the pipeline, Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj also provided the required supporting material for underground installation. This included air valves, band plates, Fevicol, nuts and bolts, clips, joints and other connecting PVC parts.

These materials are intended to help the village complete the drainage system properly and reduce the chances of leakage during operation.

Five Motors to Be Transferred After Verification

The gram panchayat has been instructed to lay the pipeline underground. During installation, the pipeline must be checked for leakage by releasing water into it. Air valves are also required to be installed at the designated points.

After the pipeline work is completed, the survey team will conduct another physical verification. If the pipeline is found to have been installed correctly, five 10 HP motors will be transferred to the gram panchayat.

Each motor is estimated to cost around ₹2 lakh. According to the village Sarpanch, two to three machines are currently being used for the pipeline installation, and the work is targeted for completion in about one month.

1,238 Acres of Farmland Expected to Benefit

The Phase 2 assistance provided by Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj is expected to strengthen Dahkora’s drainage system and help address the village’s long-standing waterlogging problem.

The improved drainage arrangement is expected to help protect around 1,238 acres of agricultural land from waterlogging. Four major temples, including the Samadhi Temple and Shiv Temple, will also receive protection from accumulated water. The government school building, constructed at a cost of crores of rupees, is also expected to benefit from improved drainage.

The underground pipeline can serve two purposes. During the rainy season, it can be used to remove excess water from agricultural fields and discharge it into the drain. During dry periods, the system can potentially be used to bring water from the drain or canal for irrigation.

Support Through Annapurna Muhim

Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj has provided similar assistance in more than 100 water-stressed and flood-affected villages across the country under Annapurna Muhim, along with initiatives for clean drinking water and livestock welfare.

The assistance provided to Dahkora in Phase 2 is intended to give the village a more reliable drainage arrangement. It can help protect farmland, crops, religious places and public infrastructure from waterlogging and provide greater stability for agricultural activities.
