Tel Aviv: On Tuesday, Iran fired missiles at Israel, triggering alarms throughout the nation as civilians hurried to find safety. Iran stated that the assault on Israel was a retaliation for the deaths of a Guards commander and other leaders.
Subsequently, the Israeli military declared an all-clear signal, indicating that residents could leave their shelters. They promised a response against Iran “at a time and place of our choosing.”
In response, the Iranian Guards warned of “devastating attacks” if Israel retaliated for the missile strikes.
Earlier, the Israeli military had communicated that any ballistic missile attack from Iran was likely to be extensive, advising the public to take refuge in secure areas should an assault occur.
The missile launches followed Israeli ground operations in Lebanon, marking the most significant escalation of regional conflict since hostilities began in Gaza a year prior.
Israel Targets Hezbollah Command Center in Southern Lebanon
Tensions in the Middle East continue to escalate as Israel launched a precision strike on a Hezbollah command centre hidden inside a mosque adjacent to the Salah Ghandour Hospital in southern Lebanon.
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed the operation on their official twitter account too, emphasising that prior warnings were issued to residents in the vicinity of the hospital. The IDF also urged the residents in the areas to cease any military activities originating from the hospital immediately.
In its statement, the IDF highlighted its commitment to civilian safety, contrasting its ‘great efforts’ with what it termed Iran’s ‘cynical use’ of the Hezbollah terrorist group to endanger civilians.
The conflict in the Middle-East has intensified since Iran’s unprovoked attack on Israel on 1st October 2024. Today’s airstrike follows Israel’s operation that eliminated Mohammad Rashid Sakafi, the Commander of Hezbollah’s Communications Unit, in a strategic assault in Beirut.
Hezbollah Claims Clash with Israeli Troops Attempting Infiltration
Hezbollah reported on Wednesday that its fighters engaged in a confrontation with Israeli soldiers attempting to infiltrate Lebanon. The Iran-backed Lebanese group stated that they targeted Israeli forces across the border as well.
According to Hezbollah, their fighters confronted “an Israeli enemy infantry force that tried to infiltrate into the village of Adaysseh,” resulting in a clash that forced the Israeli troops to retreat.
Additionally, Hezbollah claimed to have targeted “a large infantry force” in Misgav Am across the border using “rockets and artillery,” along with troop gatherings in three other locations, one of which was hit with Burkan rockets.
Since last week, Israel has been conducting heavy bombardments in southern Lebanon, claiming to target Hezbollah positions.

Iran Attacks Israel, But Iron Dome Counteracts
On Wednesday night, Iran launched an attack on Israel with 200 missiles, leading to alarm sirens ringing throughout the country and civilians rushing to shelters. However, Israel’s Iron Dome defense system effectively intercepted most of the missiles.
The Israeli military reported that their systems managed to neutralize the majority of the incoming missiles before they could reach their targets. Nonetheless, some missiles did land near areas close to Tel Aviv, resulting in one soldier being injured.
Iran described the attack as a show of strength, while Israel has vowed to take severe action against Tehran in response. International leaders have condemned the attack and called for a de-escalation of tensions between the two nations.
Iranian officials warned that they would retaliate if Israel continues its attacks. This situation has raised concerns about further instability in the Middle East.
