Kailash Mansarovar Yatra 2025: The Government of India has officially announced the resumption of the sacred Kailash Mansarovar Yatra in 2025. This pilgrimage was suspended for the last five years due to the COVID-19 pandemic and strained diplomatic relations with China, which are now being revived in pomp and grandeur, taking a huge step toward restoring spiritual tradition and regional cooperation. Is Lord Shiva really the Supreme God of salvation? Or is there a deeper truth that has been hidden for centuries?

What Makes Kailash Mansarovar So Special?

Mount Kailash, located in the region of Tibet, is believed to be the abode of Lord Shiva by Hindus. But it is not only Hindus who hold this mountain sacred: Buddhists, Jains, and others from the Tibetan Bon religion regard it as a place deeply revered and holy.

Crystal clear freshwater lake, located right next to the mountain that can easily be considered one of the highest in the world, Lake Mansarovar is also supposed to wash away the sins in taking a dip in it by the pilgrims and bring peace of mind to their souls.  Simply a spiritual magnet pulling people from every corner of life, every faith, and every age.

Why Was the Yatra Stopped?

Kailash Mansarovar Yatra 2025: The last Kailash Mansarovar Yatra was in 2019, and the COVID-19 pandemic came in and closed everything. Even after COVID was all right, the situation never improved due to tensions between India and China, especially in and around the border areas, which barely permitted any attempts to restart the Yatra.

Years of diplomatic dialogues and peace-building efforts were finally worth their tough work, as a decision was made to reopen the route for Indian pilgrims in 2025.

Diplomatic Breakthrough and Resumption Plans

The well-deserved breakthrough happened in early 2025 when high-level meetings between Indian and Chinese diplomats resulted in a mutual consent towards resuming the Yatra. As also a goodwill gesture and on the occasion of completing 75 years of bilateral diplomatic relations between the two countries, China agreed to grant access to Indian pilgrims to the Kailash and Mansarovar Lake.

Kailash Mansarovar Yatra 2025: The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), India will roll the Yatra very soon through the official registration portal. Thousands of devotees are likely to apply as soon as a formal announcement comes.

How Do People Get There?

Pilgrims from India usually have two main routes to reach Kailash Mansarovar:

1. Through the Lipulekh Pass (Uttarakhand):

This is a traditional route. It is pretty tough and has lots of trekking routes and really suits adrenaline seekers and those physically fit to endure it. Its travel will take nearly 23 to 25 days and goes through beautiful Himalayas.

2. Via NathuLa Pass (Sikkim):

It’s more recent and a comparatively easier route, especially for old people or unfit trekkers as it requires driving more than walking. The journey takes around 20 to 22 days.

Both of the routes then cross into Tibet, where the actual Kailash Parikrama (round the mountain) and trip to Mansarovar Lake are observed.

Kailash Mansarovar Yatra 2025: What’s New in 2025?

2025 pilgrimage is not like it was; it has received some modifications:

Non-stop Flight Services:

Kailash Mansarovar Yatra 2025: For the first time, direct flights between India and some exciting destinations/nice places in Tibet might be materializing. This will provide some relief from airport hopping and reduce travel pressures.

Application Process: Digitalization:

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) is going to unveil its improved version of an online portal. Pilgrims will be able to apply, upload, and at the same time, find their application status using this website.

Fare Rise:

The whole pilgrimage trip is going to be expensive. In 2019, it was around Rs 90,000. For 2025, it is assumed to be close to ₹1.8 to ₹2.2 lakh depending on the route. This would include expenses for transport, food, accommodation, or so forth.

Altered Visa Rule:

Kailash Mansarovar Yatra 2025: As of now, intending pilgrims need a tourist visa, which they can apply for in person. Again, the convenience of group travel is restricted: the group should be made up of five or more people. A face-to-face interview requires the presence of a minimum of four group members.

How to Apply for the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra 2025?

The way to go about it would be rather detailed but manageable. Here’s what you have to do:

1. Fill out an online application on the MEA portal (as and when activated).

2. Document submission- passport, medical certificates, and the like.

3. Undergo medical background-checks to ensure being fit for high-altitude health consideration.

4. Go through training and orientation along with an assembly group.

5. Wait for selection, which is generally through a lottery system in the case of too many applicants.

Eligibility is restricted to citizens from India between 18 and 70 years of age; physical fitness is a must.

Beyond Religion: A Boost for Diplomacy

Kailash Mansarovar Yatra 2025: Although it is extremely spiritual in nature, the pilgrimage can also be considered diplomatic in some sense. This resumption thus implies better ties between India and China. The two countries had been at loggerheads over a variety of issues in recent years and the reopening of this peaceful, people-to-people journey ought to be considered a step in the right direction.

And it has once again indicated the fact that religion can really be a bridge for people in countries, whatever their political relations might be at a certain very tense moment in history.

A Divine Perspective: Understanding True Worship Beyond Pilgrimage

Shrimad Bhagavad Gita, in Chapter 15, verse 1, gives us a very powerful metaphor about this world:

“Urdhvamūlam adhah-śākham ashvattham prāhur avyayam…”.

(This world is described as a peepal tree, with roots above and branches below. One who tells about the every part of tree is Tatavdarshi Sant and knows about the creation).

This verse tells us that the entire creation is like an upside-down tree, where its root is Supreme God, and its branches are gods (deity) goddesses, followed by leaves as this materialistic world.

But what is this root? Who is the eternal base to hold this universe together?

Kabir Sahib Ji beautifully explains this as:

“AKshar Purush ek ped hai, Kshar Purush waaki daar,

Teeno deva shakha hai, Paat roop sansaar.”

The true root of this cosmic tree is Satpurush (the Eternal God), or Kabir Sahib, the stem is Akshar purush (ParBrahm) while the Trunk (Daar) is kshar Purush (Brahm), and the branches are Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiv-the three gods of creation, sustenance, and destruction. The leaves and twigs represent all living beings caught in the cycle of birth and death.

This divine insight breaks the myth that Lord Shiva is the Supreme God. He is a very powerful deity-no doubt respected-but even he is part of this tree. Like a branch, he rather does not have the power to grant salvation. And only by worshipping root one can attain Moksha (Salvation).

That Supreme Power is no one but Kabir Sahib Ji, the Creator of all. He is not formless or just a poetic representation. Kabir Saheb is a real, eternal God in human form, who came to this world and revealed a path of true bhakti based on scripture. Today, in the whole dark and confusional age, Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj is the only saint and teacher who is opening up this truth for the world.

Through the correct mantras and spiritual knowledge from our Holy Scriptures, like Gita, Vedas, Quran, Bible, and Guru Granth Sahib, He attached people to Supreme God Kabir Sahib Ji. He is the only enlightened Saint giving Naam Diksha (initiation), which leads to the path of salvation and gives you complete freedom from the cycle of birth and death from this world’s tree.

Therefore, while crores of people are preparing for the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra for attaining divine experience, the real Kailash lies within us, and only a True Guru can lead us toward that.

As Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj rightly says: “Do not worship the branches. Worship the root. Only then will your devotion bear fruit.”
