Silani village in Haryana’s Jhajjar district had been facing a severe rainwater waterlogging problem for many years. Following the inspection report, two heavy-duty 10 HP motors were provided to Silani village under Phase-2 of the Kisan Mazdoor Bachao Abhiyan. In addition, all essential technical equipment required for the smooth operation of the drainage system was handed over to the Gram Panchayat.

The assistance included 2,020 feet of suction hose, L&T starters, cable wires, PVC pipes, iron clamps, PVC plates, air valves, reducers, joints, steel nuts and bolts, clips, and all other branded materials required for installation and fitting.

According to villagers, one of the most valuable aspects of the initiative was that every essential component—from the smallest fittings to the major equipment—was supplied, ensuring that no technical obstacles would arise during implementation.

Villagers and Sarpanch Express Gratitude

Village Sarpanch Mahavir emotionally shared that the problem had existed for many years. During every rainy season, fields would become flooded, causing heavy losses to farmers. He expressed confidence that the new drainage system would bring significant relief. Receiving more than 13,000 feet of pipeline along with two heavy-duty motors, he said, was a major achievement for the village.

Another villager remarked:

“We never received this much support even from the government. If this drainage system becomes fully operational, it will greatly benefit farmers, and water will no longer remain stagnant in the fields.”

An elderly farmer also expressed his happiness, saying that for decades they had suffered crop losses despite their hard work. He now believes the future will be different.
