Silani village in Haryana’s Jhajjar district had been facing a severe rainwater waterlogging problem for many years. Every monsoon season, rainwater accumulated in the agricultural fields surrounding the village and remained stagnant for several days due to the lack of a proper drainage system. The worst affected were the farmers whose livelihoods depended entirely on agriculture. Standing crops were damaged, investments in seeds and fertilizers were lost, and farmers had to bear not only financial losses but also immense mental stress.

According to villagers, this was not a new issue. For years, they had demanded a permanent drainage solution, but no substantial progress had been made. Gradually, the problem became a major obstacle to both agricultural productivity and the village’s overall development. The villagers hoped for a solution that would provide lasting relief rather than temporary measures.

Gram Panchayat Sought a Permanent Solution

Recognizing the hardships faced by farmers, the Gram Panchayat of Silani village presented the issue before Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj under the Kisan Mazdoor Bachao Abhiyan. The villagers requested a reliable drainage system that could efficiently remove accumulated rainwater from their fields and protect them from recurring losses.

Considering the seriousness of the problem, a survey team was sent to inspect the village. The team conducted a detailed field survey, assessed the extent of waterlogging, and studied the technical requirements for an effective solution. Based on the survey findings, approval was granted for the installation of an approximately 13,500-foot-long, 8-inch pipeline to facilitate the drainage of rainwater from the affected agricultural fields.

For the villagers, this marked the beginning of a much-awaited solution. They viewed the project not merely as infrastructure development but as a significant step towards securing their future.

A 13,500-Foot Pipeline Marked the Beginning of Positive Change

Following approval of the survey report, the required pipeline and related materials were provided to Silani village. The Gram Panchayat, along with local residents, began laying the underground pipeline at designated locations.

Villagers explained that the initiative extended far beyond simply supplying materials. Every stage of the project was carried out in an organized and systematic manner. After the pipeline installation was completed, the survey team revisited the site for inspection. The inspection confirmed that two pipeline sections had been installed underground according to the prescribed technical standards.

Residents stated that this phased approach and continuous monitoring strengthened their confidence that the project would be completed with quality and accountability rather than remaining merely an announcement.

Two Heavy-Duty 10 HP Motors Delivered During Phase-2

Following the inspection report, two heavy-duty 10 HP motors were provided to Silani village under Phase-2 of the Kisan Mazdoor Bachao Abhiyan. In addition, all essential technical equipment required for the smooth operation of the drainage system was handed over to the Gram Panchayat.

The assistance included 2,020 feet of suction hose, L&T starters, cable wires, PVC pipes, iron clamps, PVC plates, air valves, reducers, joints, steel nuts and bolts, clips, and all other branded materials required for installation and fitting.

According to villagers, one of the most valuable aspects of the initiative was that every essential component—from the smallest fittings to the major equipment—was supplied, ensuring that no technical obstacles would arise during implementation.

Villagers and Sarpanch Express Gratitude

Village Sarpanch Mahavir emotionally shared that the problem had existed for many years. During every rainy season, fields would become flooded, causing heavy losses to farmers. He expressed confidence that the new drainage system would bring significant relief. Receiving more than 13,000 feet of pipeline along with two heavy-duty motors, he said, was a major achievement for the village.

Another villager remarked:

“We never received this much support even from the government. If this drainage system becomes fully operational, it will greatly benefit farmers, and water will no longer remain stagnant in the fields.”

An elderly farmer also expressed his happiness, saying that for decades they had suffered crop losses despite their hard work. He now believes the future will be different.

Proper Drainage Will Benefit Farmers Significantly

According to both experts and local residents, once the drainage system becomes fully operational, hundreds of acres of agricultural land will directly benefit. Water will no longer remain stagnant in the fields for extended periods, protecting crop roots and improving productivity. Farmers will be spared repeated crop failures and the need for re-sowing, thereby reducing cultivation costs and strengthening the rural economy.

Young villagers also believe that if farming becomes more profitable, migration from the village will decrease and future generations will be encouraged to continue farming.

Service Initiatives by Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj Have Inspired Hope and Confidence Among Villagers

The people of Silani village expressed special gratitude to Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj. They stated that the phased assistance provided after understanding the challenges faced by farmers and laborers had instilled a renewed sense of confidence within the community.

According to the villagers, the initiative was not limited to supplying materials. Conducting detailed surveys, preparing a structured plan, monitoring the implementation, and providing additional assistance whenever required reflected a compassionate and socially responsible approach.

Many residents said such efforts offer hope to weaker and underprivileged sections of society. They described the work carried out for farmers’ welfare, rural development, and social service as an example of compassion, humanity, and public welfare.

Positive Change Is Becoming Visible Across the Village

Since the arrival of the assistance, an atmosphere of optimism has spread throughout the village. Residents believe that a permanent solution to their long-standing problem is now within reach. Compared to the past, farmers appear much more hopeful about the future.

The Gram Panchayat stated that once the remaining pipeline work is completed, the subsequent phases of the project will be implemented according to established procedures so that the maximum number of farmers can benefit. Villagers believe that when society comes together to solve a common problem, meaningful change becomes possible. The ongoing work in Silani stands as a strong example of this collective spirit.

A Story of Relief, Trust, and a New Beginning for the Farmers of Silani

The efforts undertaken to resolve the long-standing waterlogging problem in Silani village, Jhajjar, are now becoming visible on the ground. From laying the pipeline to providing heavy-duty motors and essential technical equipment, this initiative represents far more than a development project—it symbolizes hope for farmers who have struggled with recurring losses for years.

Villagers believe that once the drainage system becomes fully operational, rainwater will no longer remain trapped in their fields, crops will be protected, and farmers will finally receive the full reward of their hard work. The smiles returning to the faces of the villagers reflect the belief that when compassionate efforts are translated into meaningful action, change is not only visible—it is genuinely felt in people’s lives.
