Phase II Nagla Dadu Village Gets Major Drainage Support
SHARE

Nagla Dadu village in Rajasthan’s Deeg district has received additional drainage infrastructure under Phase II of the Kisan Mazdoor Bachao Abhiyan. The latest assistance includes 4,800 feet of 8-inch pipeline aimed at addressing the remaining waterlogged farmland in the village. Residents said the area had been facing waterlogging for around 70 years. Earlier, Tatvdarshi Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj had provided support under the Annapurna Muhim, helping drain a significant portion of the affected land. The latest phase focuses on creating a long-term drainage solution for the remaining area.

The villagers said they visited Satlok Ashram Dhanana Dham and submitted a prayer request seeking help for the remaining waterlogged farmland. Following the request, a survey team visited the village and assessed the requirement for additional drainage infrastructure.

Key Takeaways: Phase II Support for Nagla Dadu Village

  • Nagla Dadu village in Deeg district faced waterlogging for around 70 years.
  • Villagers said nearly 300-400 bighas of land were affected.
  • Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj earlier provided assistance under the Annapurna Muhim.
  • Initial support included 13,000 feet of pipeline and two 20 HP motors.
  • Additional support later included two tractor coupling sets.
  • Around 200 bighas of land reportedly became cultivable after drainage.
  • Villagers reported wheat production of around 20 mann per bigha.
  • About 100 bighas remained waterlogged and required further intervention.
  • A survey identified a need for 4,800 feet of additional 8-inch pipeline.
  • Under Phase II of the Kisan Mazdoor Bachao Abhiyan, 4,800 feet of pipeline was provided.

Villagers Sought Help for Remaining Waterlogged Land

According to villagers, the initial drainage work helped remove water from a large portion of the affected farmland. However, around 100 bighas remained submerged due to heavy water accumulation and limited time before the sowing season.

To address the remaining area, villagers from Nagla Dadu approached Satlok Ashram Dhanana Dham and submitted a request to Tatvdarshi Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj. Residents said they sought assistance for a permanent drainage solution so that the remaining farmland could also be reclaimed for cultivation.

Survey Team Assessed Ground Conditions

Following the request, a team visited the village and conducted a survey.

The survey identified two drainage points:

Drainage PointRequired Pipeline Length
Temple Point1,640 feet
School-to-Temple Point3,160 feet
Total4,800 feet

The team reported that a total of 4,800 feet of 8-inch pipeline would be required to connect the drainage system and facilitate water discharge towards the canal.

Villagers also requested two single-phase motors because the village does not currently have adequate three-phase electricity infrastructure to operate larger motors.

Earlier Assistance Under Annapurna Muhim

Residents said the village had previously received assistance from Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj.

According to villagers and local representatives, the earlier support included:

AssistanceDetails
Pipeline13,000 feet (8-inch)
MotorsTwo 20 HP motors
Additional SupportGenerator rent and diesel expenses
Later SupportTwo tractor coupling sets

Villagers stated that this assistance helped remove water from approximately 200 bighas of farmland that had remained affected for decades.

Several residents said that, after the water receded, cultivation resumed and wheat production reached around 20 mann per bigha on reclaimed land.

Village Residents Describe Agricultural Recovery

During interactions featured in the ground report, several farmers said they had never witnessed cultivation on parts of the affected land during their lifetime.

Residents stated that agricultural activity had remained severely impacted due to persistent waterlogging. Some villagers said the situation affected livelihoods, housing, education and employment opportunities, while others reported that migration from the village had increased because farming was no longer viable.

Farmers said that after water was drained from a significant portion of the land, cultivation became possible and families were able to harvest grain from their own fields.

Additional Infrastructure Delivered Under Phase II

As part of Phase II of the Kisan Mazdoor Bachao Abhiyan, a convoy carrying relief material reached Nagla Dadu village.

According to the survey findings and villagers’ requirements, the latest assistance included:

  • 4,800 feet of 8-inch pipeline
  • Equipment required for pipeline installation
  • Assurance of two 5 HP single-phase motors after pipeline installation

Representatives said the pipeline would first be installed underground. After completion of the installation work, the two motors would be provided for operating the drainage system.

Villagers stated that the infrastructure is expected to support water removal before future monsoon seasons.

Villagers Speak About Dhanana Dham Visit

Several villagers, including Vinod Kumar, spoke about their visit to Satlok Ashram Dhanana Dham. Residents said they experienced mental peace during the visit and discussed the village’s drainage challenges.

The report also stated that Vinod Kumar, aged 68, and his brother decided to give up hookah after visiting the ashram. Villagers described this as a personal change that accompanied the agricultural assistance being provided in the village.

A Village Looking Towards Long-Term Water Management

Village representatives said the remaining 100 bighas of affected land now have a pathway towards a long-term drainage solution. They stated that the newly supplied pipeline would be installed within a few days and connected to the planned drainage points.

Residents also noted that they had requested three-phase electricity from authorities in the future so that larger motors could eventually be operated if required.

For villagers who described the area as affected by waterlogging for nearly seven decades, the latest Phase II support represents another step towards restoring agricultural activity and strengthening water management infrastructure in Nagla Dadu.
