This move is considered as a significant modernisation of India’s social security system for the salaried employees.

In this article, let’s understand in detail about the new EPFO UPI withdrawal mechanism, process, and its significance.

What is the New EPFO UPI Based Withdrawal Facility?

As per the recent PTI report, EPFO has completed the testing process for PF withdrawals through UPI. Once implemented, the EPF members will be able to withdraw their provident fund amount directly using a UPI based system instantly, without any paper work and approval.

Presently, the EPF members are required to submit claims and documents online through the EPFO portal or the UMANG application. Post verification, the PF amount is transferred to the member’s bank account which usually takes several days due to claims processing and approvals.

With the proposed UPI integration, the members will get the perks of instant fund withdrawal, and reduced waiting time.

Benefits of UPI Based PF Withdrawals

The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) is one of the world’s largest social security systems serving crores of salaried employees in India.

The introduction of UPI based PF withdrawals offers several benefits including:

  • Faster claim settlements (often within hours)
  • Reduced paperworks, approvals, and office visits
  • Reduced verifications and administrative delays
  • Digitally convenient for today’s tech enabled society
  • Seamless integration with National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI)

Increase in Auto Settlement Limit

One of the major updates of the new EPFO digital reform is the rise in the auto settlement threshold from Rs. 1 lakh to Rs. 5 lakh.

As per the reports, the claims up to Rs. 5 lakhs can now be processed instantly without any manual interventions and approvals, allowing subscribers to receive their PF amount quickly.

The reform of auto settlement is useful in case of:

  • Medical emergencies
  • Housing needs
  • Education related expenses
  • Marriage expenses

This raise in the threshold is expected to financially support the large number of EPF members.

How the Current PF Withdrawal System Works?

Presently, the EPF subscribers can withdraw their PF amount online through the EPFO portal and the UMANG application.

To withdraw the amount, the members shall have:

  • Activated Universal Account Number (UAN)
  • Aadhar Number (linked with UAN)
  • Bank account details
  • KYC details

Post successful submission of claims, the request is verified by the EPFO and funds are released to the registered bank account.

Official Launch Date of UPI Bases PF Withdrawals

The EPFO has not yet announced the official rollout date for UPI based withdrawal facility.

However, reports suggested that the testing process is completed successfully, and the official launch date will be announced soon.

The EPF members are advised to stay updated with the EPFO website and government notifications for further updates.

To avoid the future delays once the facility becomes operational, the EPF members should ensure:

  • UAN is active
  • Aadhar is linked
  • Bank details are accurate
  • KYC is completed

Beyond Instant Funds: The True Account Of The Soul

The upcoming convenience of withdrawing your PF money instantly through UPI highlights humanity’s constant search for financial security and immediate gratification. While these digital advancements make managing worldly wealth effortless, they leave a critical gap. Can instant money protect us from life’s inevitable uncertainties? What happens to these accumulated funds when our final breath suddenly arrives?

We tirelessly secure our earthly future but completely neglect our spiritual bank balance. Jagatguru Tatvdarshi Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj reveals that real security does not lie in temporary financial assets, but in the eternal wealth of True Worship. This mortal realm is transient, and no amount of money can clear our karmic debts or buy salvation.

To secure your ultimate eternal future and break free from the cycle of birth and death, embrace the true scripture-based path today.
