- On October 12th, 2024, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh virtually inaugurated 75 Border Road Organisation (BRO) Projects worth INR 2236 crore.
- The projects were launched from the Headquarters, Trishakti Corps, Sukna, West Bengal. Projects include the prominent Kupup-Sherathang Road in Sikkim, which links Jawahar Lal Nehru Marg and Zuluk axis.
- According to the official Press Release (Release no 2064340), these projects comprise 22 roads, 51 bridges and other projects across 11 states and Union Territories.
- 19 in Jammu & Kashmir, 18 in Arunachal Pradesh, 11 in Ladakh, 9 in Uttarakhand, 6 in Sikkim, 5 in Himachal Pradesh, 2 each in West Bengal and Rajasthan, and 1 each in Nagaland, Mizoram, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

- With these 75 projects, the total number of projects dedicated by BRO to the nation is now 111 with a worth of INR 3751 crores. 125 BRO projects were dedicated last year having worth INR 3611 crore.
- Defence Minister Rajnath Singh stressed on the focus of Modi’s government for the development of BRO (Border Development Organisation) projects since 2014. He believes that these developments will strengthen the overall defence of the nation, and also lead to the development of these remote areas socially and economically.
- The minister also appreciated the timely completion of the projects by BRO personnel, even in the toughest conditions. This achievement of the organisation has boosted road infrastructure in remote areas, strengthening the overall defence of the nation.
- Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also gave a bold statement about India’s future in Defence which states “India will be one of the safest and the strongest nation in the times to come”
