The Armed Forces Flag Day was observed with great respect and patriotism in Patiala on December 7, as the District Defence Services Welfare Office initiated its campaign to honor the valor and sacrifices of the armed forces. The event began with a ceremonial pinning of the token flag on Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Isha Singhal, marking the official start of the campaign.

ADC Isha Singhal Calls for Community Support to Honor Armed Forces

Speaking on the occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner Isha Singhal expressed her deep gratitude for the sacrifices made by armed forces personnel. She emphasized the importance of contributing to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund, which provides crucial support to the families of martyrs and disabled soldiers.

Singhal urged the residents of Patiala to actively participate in this noble cause, underlining that the collective efforts of the community reflect the nation’s acknowledgment of the invaluable sacrifices made by its soldiers.

The event also witnessed a heartfelt gesture of solidarity, as financial assistance was extended to nine ex-servicemen and their families. This initiative was a reminder of the ongoing commitment to address the welfare needs of veterans and their dependents, recognizing their service to the nation.

The Armed Forces Flag Day Fund plays a vital role in supporting the welfare of armed forces personnel, particularly the families of martyrs and soldiers who have been disabled in the line of duty. Contributions to this fund are utilized for education, healthcare, and financial support, ensuring that the families of those who served the nation receive the care they deserve.  

Patiala Joins Hands to Support Armed Forces: A Call for Unity and Gratitude

The District Defence Services Welfare Office, in collaboration with the local administration, called upon citizens to actively engage with the campaign by contributing generously to the fund. The office also highlighted the significance of such initiatives in fostering a culture of respect and gratitude towards the armed forces.  

As Patiala united to observe this significant day, the Armed Forces Flag Day stood as a testament to the enduring bond between the armed forces and the citizens they protect. The campaign serves as a reminder of the sacrifices that safeguard the nation’s peace and sovereignty, urging everyone to play their part in supporting the heroes and their families.
