- US National Security Communication Adviser J. Kirby confirmed in a press briefing that North Korea has delivered troops to Russia.
- He said “We assess that between early- to mid-October, North Korea moved at least 3,000 soldiers into eastern Russia.”
- He further said “We do not yet know whether these soldiers will en- — enter into combat alongside the Russian military, but this is a certain — certainly a highly concerning probability.”

North Korean News: On October 23, 2024, Wednesday, during a Press Briefing in Rome, Italy, Defence Secretary to the United States, Lloyd Austin confirmed North Korea’s involvement in assisting Russia in the war with Ukraine by delivering troops. He further said, this is a ‘very, very serious issue’, and could have adverse impact on Europe and the Indo-Pacific region.

South Korean Lawmakers Confirmed
- Around 3,000 troops have been aided by North Korea to Russia amidst on-going war with Ukraine.
- Park Sun-Won, a member of the Parliamentary South Korean Intelligence Committee confirmed it by stating “It appears that the troops have now been dispersed to multiple training facilities in Russia and are adapting to the local environment.”
- As per the South Korean estimates, this number could rise to 10,000 by December 2024 which indicates a significant growth in military alliance between Moscow and Pyongyang.
