Years of Waterlogging Affected Farming and Public Access

According to the Gram Panchayat and villagers, rainwater from surrounding areas accumulated in the village’s agricultural land every monsoon. Around 150–200 acres were affected, preventing timely sowing in several fields and causing repeated losses to paddy and wheat crops.

The problem extended beyond agriculture. Waterlogging also affected the cremation ground and nearby roads, creating difficulties for villagers during the rainy season. Residents stated that access to the cremation ground and surrounding fields became difficult whenever heavy rainfall occurred.

Survey Conducted Following Gram Panchayat’s Request

After receiving the villagers’ request, Tatvdarshi Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj directed a survey team to inspect the affected area. During the survey, two drainage points were identified:

  • First point: 1,125 metres (approximately 3,700 feet)
  • Second point: 487 metres (approximately 1,600 feet)

The survey confirmed the Gram Panchayat’s assessment that a total 5,300-foot pipeline, along with one 10 HP motor and one 20 HP motor, would be required for the drainage system.

Assistance Approved Under Kisan Mazdoor Bachao Abhiyan Phase 2

Following approval of the survey report, Tatvdarshi Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj Ji, under the Kisan Mazdoor Bachao Abhiyan Phase 2, sanctioned:

  • 5,300-foot pipeline
  • One 10 HP motor
  • One 20 HP motor

The Gram Panchayat also received complete installation material, including air valves, Fevicol, nuts, bolts, bands, plates and other required accessories so that the pipeline work could be completed without additional expenditure.

The survey team instructed the Gram Panchayat to lay the pipeline underground, test it by releasing water to check for leakages and install the supplied air valves before backfilling. After verification of the completed pipeline work, both motors would be made available.

Rapid Survey and Material Delivery

During interactions recorded in the ground report, Sarpanch Kuldeep stated that the application was submitted one day earlier. According to Him, the survey was conducted the same day, and the approval process moved quickly.

Village representatives said the committee contacted them shortly after the request, carried out the inspection, including a drone survey of the proposed alignment, and the pipeline material reached the village the following day.

Villagers Describe Long-Standing Challenges

Villagers said the waterlogging problem had persisted for many years. Some stated that roads near Kaloi Road and Rurki Road often became submerged during heavy rainfall, affecting movement and increasing difficulties for nearby villages. They also said that water accumulation created serious challenges during funeral processions when the cremation ground became inaccessible.

Several villagers expressed hope that the drainage project would significantly reduce waterlogging, protect agricultural land and improve access to village roads.

A village representative also recalled that Tatvdarshi Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj Ji had earlier provided a water tanker for drinking water service in the village after a request from the Gram Panchayat. According to the representative, the tanker continues to support drinking water distribution.

Gram Panchayat Verifies Material Received

Representatives of the Gram Panchayat confirmed receipt of the complete pipeline material and stated that no essential installation component was missing. They said the supplied materials were of good quality and expressed confidence that the drainage project would help reduce crop losses and improve conditions across the village.

The Gram Panchayat further stated that once the pipeline installation is completed, waterlogging in agricultural fields, village roads and the cremation ground is expected to reduce substantially, providing long-term relief to residents.

Drainage Work Marks a Significant Step Towards Relief

According to the Gram Panchayat and villagers, the assistance provided under the Kisan Mazdoor Bachao Abhiyan Phase 2 represents an important step towards resolving a problem that had affected Bhalot Village, Rohtak, Haryana for several years. The approved drainage infrastructure is expected to improve water disposal, safeguard agricultural land and ease difficulties faced by residents during the monsoon season.
