Natural disasters do not only damage crops, but they also have a deep impact on the dreams of farmers, the livelihoods of their families, and their future. Many villages in Haryana, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh struggled with severe waterlogging during the past few years. In some places, fields remained submerged under three to five feet of water for an entire month, while in others, thousands of bighas of fertile land remained underwater for as long as five years. Paddy, cotton, and other crops were completely destroyed. Wheat sowing came under threat, and thousands of farming families began facing severe financial hardship.

The situation had become so serious that many farmers had even decided to leave farming altogether. In several villages, people repeatedly approached the administration and public representatives, but no permanent solution could be found. Time was passing rapidly, and the hopes of farmers were beginning to fade.

During such difficult times Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj emerged as a new source of hope for farmers. According to the requirement of each village, motors, pipelines, tractor coupling sets, and other necessary equipment were provided, through which the work of removing water from thousands of bighas of land began. This timely assistance not only made the fields suitable for cultivation once again but also gave thousands of farming families an opportunity to recover from financial hardship.

When Waterlogging Pushed Farmers’ Lives into Crisis

In these villages, waterlogging was not limited to just a few fields. In some places, water remained standing for one month, while in others, fields had turned into lakes for five to seven years. Farming on thousands of acres and thousands of bighas of land had completely stopped.

Due to continuous waterlogging, farmers had to face numerous difficulties—

  • Paddy, cotton, and other Kharif crops were completely destroyed.
  • Wheat sowing on time became a major concern.
  • There was a severe shortage of fodder for livestock.
  • In many villages, reaching fields and roads became difficult.
  • In some places, water reached people’s houses.
  • Children’s education and family livelihoods were affected.
  • Many farmers began worrying that they might have to leave farming and work as laborers or migrate elsewhere.

The farmers stated that if water had not been drained in time, not only one crop but farming for several coming years could also have been affected.

When the Villagers Placed Their Hope in Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj

Even after continuous efforts, when the expected solution was not received at the administrative level, the Panchayats and farmers of several villages decided to place their problems before Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj.

The villagers explained the waterlogging situation, crop losses, and financial hardships according to their respective circumstances and requested assistance for removing water from the fields. According to the farmers, they had hope, but they never imagined that assistance would arrive so quickly.

After their prayer was accepted, relief materials were prepared according to the requirements of each village and delivered within only a few days. This became the turning point from where the sinking hopes of the farmers once again began moving in a new direction.

Raipur (Hisar, Haryana): Where a 22,000-Foot Pipeline Became Protection for the Future of Farmers

Raipur, Hisar (Haryana): Fields Submerged Under 3 Feet of Water… Relief Arrived, and How Wheat Sowing Began

Raipur village in Hisar district of Haryana struggled with severe waterlogging for nearly one month. Water from three to four feet deep had accumulated in the fields, while in several places the depth had reached five feet. The entire paddy crop had already been destroyed, and the biggest concern of the farmers was that if the water was not removed in time, they would not even be able to sow wheat.

The situation became even more serious for those farmers who had taken land on lease for cultivation. Before them stood not only the loss of crops but also the crisis of their entire family’s future.

Assistance Provided in Two Phases

Keeping in view the actual requirement of Raipur village, Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj provided extensive assistance under Annapurna Muhim in two phases.

Resources Provided in the First Phase

  • 15,000 feet long 8-inch pipeline
  • Five powerful 20 HP motors

When the Panchayat informed that the waterlogging was much greater than expected, additional assistance was immediately sent in the second phase.

Resources Provided in the Second Phase

  • Additional 7,000 feet of 8-inch pipeline

Along with this, the following materials were also provided to the farmers—

  • Starters
  • Electrical cables
  • Pipe joining solution
  • Nuts and bolts
  • All other necessary equipment

The villagers stated that the entire arrangement was so systematic that they did not have to visit the market to purchase any additional material.

Greenery Returned to the Fields

With the help of the resources provided, the farmers collectively began the work of water drainage. Gradually, water was removed from the fields, and wheat sowing began in fields where only water had been visible a short time earlier.

Within a short period, greenery returned to the fields, and the confidence of the village farmers also began returning.

A Permanent Solution Planned for the Future

The most remarkable aspect of Raipur village was that the Panchayat did not focus only on immediate relief.

The villagers decided that the 22,000-foot pipeline provided by Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj would be permanently laid underground so that water could be removed immediately whenever waterlogging occurred in the future.

A plan was prepared to develop five underground pipelines in the village through which water could flow directly into canals and drains. The objective of this plan was to provide permanent protection to farmers against waterlogging in the coming years.

Farmers Shared Their Experiences

The farmers stated that if assistance had not arrived on time, not only the paddy crop but the wheat crop would also have been completely lost.

The villagers said that they never expected to receive assistance on such a large scale. Today, wheat crops are flourishing in their fields, fodder is available for their livestock, and farming has once again returned to normal in the village.

Nangla Indu (Deeg, Rajasthan): Hope for Farming Returned on Land That Had Remained Waterlogged for Five Years

Nangla Indu, Deeg (Rajasthan): How Preparations for Sowing Began on 3,000 Bighas of Land That Had Remained Submerged for Five Years

Nangla Indu village in Deeg district of Rajasthan had been suffering from the problem of waterlogging for years. Approximately 2,500 to 3,000 bighas of fertile land remained continuously submerged under water for nearly five years. It had become impossible not only to cultivate crops but even to produce a single grain.

As farming had completely stopped, many families in the village fell into financial hardship. Several farmers were even forced to migrate. The fields that had once supported entire families had turned into dirty lakes.

The villagers repeatedly requested assistance from the administration and public representatives, but no permanent solution was found for years.

A Different Arrangement According to the Village’s Requirement

When the Panchayat requested assistance from Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj, the conditions of the village were carefully studied.

Electricity was not available in this village. Therefore, instead of sending motors, a different arrangement was made according to the actual requirement of the village.

Assistance Provided

  • Four powerful tractor coupling sets
  • 10,150 feet long 6-inch pipeline
  • Flexible pipes
  • Nipples
  • Foot valves
  • Other necessary pipe fitting materials

The most significant aspect was that the diesel required to operate the tractor coupling sets was also arranged by Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj, due to which no additional financial burden fell upon the Panchayat.

Hope Returned Among Farmers

According to the villagers, if approximately 2,500 to 3,000 bighas of land that had remained submerged for years became suitable for cultivation again, the economic condition of the entire village could change.

The village representatives stated that after many years, they felt for the first time that a solution to their problem was actually possible.

Advocate Chhotu Singh, along with several villagers, stated that this assistance was not merely relief material but an effort that could give a new direction to the lives of farmers. The Panchayat also stated that every item requested according to the village’s requirement had been provided.

Today, the people of Nangla Indu are continuing the water drainage work with complete confidence so that cultivation may once again begin on the land that had remained barren for years.

Maghorra (Mathura, Uttar Pradesh): Where Greenery Returned to the Fields After Years of Waterlogging

Maghorra Village, Govardhan, Mathura (Uttar Pradesh): By the Grace of Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj, Floodwater Receded and Sowing Began Again

Maghorra village, located in Govardhan Tehsil of Mathura district in Uttar Pradesh and known for its religious and cultural identity, had been facing the severe problem of waterlogging for the past two to three years. Thousands of bighas of fertile land had gone underwater. The situation became so serious that dirty water spread from the fields to many houses. Farming was completely affected, and the farmers faced a major livelihood crisis.

The impact of continuous waterlogging was not limited only to agriculture. Many families began finding it difficult to meet expenses related to their children’s education, marriages, and daily necessities. The morale of the farmers started breaking, and they began believing that perhaps their land would never again become suitable for cultivation.

Assistance Provided According to the Village’s Requirement

After the villagers’ prayer was accepted, a survey of the village was conducted, and relief material was provided according to the actual requirement.

Assistance Provided in Maghorra Village

  • 7,300 feet long 8-inch pipeline
  • One 20 HP motor
  • One 15 HP motor
  • Approximately 300 feet of electrical wire
  • Starter
  • Sleeves
  • Steel nuts and bolts
  • Other necessary equipment

All the material was provided together so that the farmers would not face any difficulty during the water drainage work.

Water Drainage Campaign Continued for Nearly Two Months

After receiving the assistance, the farmers of the village collectively started the water drainage work. Continuous efforts were made for nearly two months, after which water was removed from the fields and surrounding areas to a large extent.

Where earlier several feet of water had accumulated around the fields and houses, now most of the land had once again become suitable for cultivation.

The villagers stated that wheat sowing had been successfully completed in most of the affected areas. Only a few low-lying fields could not be cultivated this season because water drained from them later.

A Plan Prepared for the Future

The village Panchayat decided that after the crop harvest, permanent pipelines would be laid in those areas from which water could not be completely removed this time, so that water could be drained immediately if waterlogging occurred again in the future.

The villagers believe that after this plan is implemented, farmers will not have to face the same problem repeatedly in the coming years.

Halei Sarot village in Deeg district of Rajasthan had been facing continuous waterlogging for the past five to seven years. Approximately 4,500 bighas of fertile land remained submerged under water. For years, neither the Kharif crop nor the Rabi crop could be cultivated. Along with the fields, roads had also become inaccessible, and water accumulated around many houses, affecting the normal life of the villagers.

As farming had stopped, the income of farmers had almost disappeared. They had to purchase fodder for their livestock, and many families were struggling with financial hardship.

Assistance Delivered in Two Phases

Keeping in view the requirement of the village, Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj provided assistance under Annapurna Muhim in two phases.

First Phase

  • 5,300 feet of 8-inch pipeline
  • Two 10 HP motors
  • One tractor coupling set

Second Phase

  • Additional 6,500 feet pipeline
  • Two additional 10 HP motors
  • One additional tractor coupling set

Total Assistance Provided to the Village

  • 11,800 feet of 8-inch pipeline
  • Four 10 HP motors
  • Two tractor coupling sets

In addition, the following materials were also provided—

  • Starters
  • Flexible pipes
  • Electrical wires
  • Nipples
  • Steel nuts and bolts
  • Other necessary equipment

The most remarkable aspect was that the diesel required to operate the motors and the generator rental arrangements were also borne by Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj, due to which no additional financial burden fell upon the farmers.

Enthusiasm Seen in the Village

When the relief material reached the village, the villagers welcomed it with drums and traditional musical instruments. Elderly people, women, and youth gathered in large numbers. The Panchayat assured that the material provided would be fully utilized and that water would be removed from the fields as quickly as possible so that farming could begin again.

The villagers stated that if the land submerged for years became suitable for cultivation again, the economic condition of the entire village would improve significantly.

Timely Assistance Restored Farmers’ Hope

The situations in all four villages were different, but the problems faced by the farmers were almost the same. In some places, water remained for one month, while in others, fields remained submerged for five to seven years. Crops were destroyed, financial hardship increased, and concern about the future continued to deepen.

Under the guidance of Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj, the resources provided through Annapurna Muhim accelerated the work of water drainage in these villages. Motors were provided wherever required, tractor coupling sets were sent where electricity was unavailable, and pipelines and other equipment were supplied according to the specific needs of each village.

As a result, wheat sowing became possible on time in many places, fields gradually became suitable for cultivation again, and the confidence of farmers returned. Some villages also decided to develop permanent pipeline systems to prevent waterlogging in the future.

Other Humanitarian Service Activities of Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj

Under the guidance of Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj, not only assistance to farmers but also numerous humanitarian and social welfare activities are being continuously carried out across the country. These include—

  • Relief work during natural disasters
  • Ration assistance for needy families
  • Blood donation camps
  • Free dowry-free marriages
  • Assistance for poor and needy families
  • Environmental protection campaigns
  • De-addiction awareness campaigns
  • Timely assistance to needy farmers

The purpose of these services is to bring positive change to the lives of the weaker sections of society by providing timely support.

Greenery and New Hope Returned to the Villages

The stories of Raipur, Nangla Indu, Maghorra, and Halei Sarot are not limited only to relief from waterlogging. They are stories of the struggle, patience, and collective efforts of farming families who did not lose hope even in the most difficult circumstances.

Today, where there was once an atmosphere of water and despair, preparations for cultivation can once again be seen. Wheat sowing has already been completed in many places, confidence has returned to the faces of farmers, and the villages appear more hopeful about the future than before.

The assistance provided at the right time not only delivered immediate relief but also laid the foundation for permanent solutions in several villages. This is why this initiative has emerged not merely as a water drainage effort, but as an important step toward securing the livelihood of farmers, protecting their land, and safeguarding their future.
