SHARE

Deeg, Rajasthan – For many years, the farmers of Abhora village lived with a problem that seemed impossible to solve. Large areas of farmland remained covered with water, making it difficult to grow crops and earn a living. Farming is the main source of income for most families in the village, so when the fields stopped producing crops, many households faced serious financial difficulties. As time passed, people began losing hope that their land would ever become useful again.

A Problem That Lasted for Years

Residents say that nearly 700 bighas of farmland were affected by waterlogging for around four years. During this time, farmers could not grow their usual crops, and many fields remained unused. Every farming season brought new disappointment because the land stayed underwater. Families that depended on agriculture struggled to meet their daily needs, while some farmers worried about falling deeper into debt. The problem affected not only farming but also the overall economy of the village.

Searching for a Way Forward

Over the years, villagers tried different ways to get help. They shared their concerns with officials and local representatives, hoping that a solution would be found. However, the problem continued. Eventually, the villagers decided to seek assistance from Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj. They explained how waterlogging had damaged their farmland and affected the lives of hundreds of farming families. Their main goal was simple: they wanted their fields back.

Support Arrives When It Was Needed Most

After learning about the situation, arrangements were made to provide the equipment needed for water drainage. The village received 8,600 feet of 8-inch pipeline, two 10 HP pumps, generators, diesel fuel, cables, and other necessary materials. These resources helped villagers start removing water from the affected land. According to local residents, all of the support was provided without placing any financial burden on the farmers, allowing the work to begin quickly and efficiently.

Fields Come Back to Life

As the drainage work continued, the results slowly became visible. Large areas of land that had been underwater for years began to dry out. Farmers were finally able to prepare their fields and start sowing crops again. Wheat and mustard crops now cover much of the recovered farmland, creating a very different scene from the flooded fields of previous years. Even in some low-lying areas where water remained, farmers found ways to use the land by planting fodder crops and moong.

Farmers See Hope for a Better Future

The return of farming has brought new confidence to the people of Abhora. Many farmers believe that the coming harvest season could significantly improve their financial situation. The possibility of earning income from their land again has given families hope after years of uncertainty. Villagers say that successful crop production could help reduce financial pressure and allow them to focus on building a better future for their children.

Voices from the Village

Many residents have expressed their appreciation for the support that helped them restart farming activities. According to village representatives, the assistance arrived at a time when people were running out of options. They believe that reclaiming the farmland has not only improved agricultural opportunities but has also restored confidence among villagers. Seeing crops grow again has become a symbol of progress and renewal for the community.

Part of a Larger Service Effort

The assistance provided in Abhora is part of the Annapurna Muhim, through which support is extended to communities facing different kinds of challenges. The initiative focuses on helping people during difficult times and providing practical solutions that can improve daily life. Villagers say such efforts can make a meaningful difference, especially in rural areas where agriculture remains the backbone of the local economy.

A Brighter Tomorrow for Abhora

Today, Abhora village presents a picture of change and recovery. The fields that once stood covered with water are now turning green with crops. Farmers who had spent years worrying about their future are once again preparing for harvest. While challenges may still remain, the village now looks ahead with greater confidence and optimism. For many residents, this transformation is proof that with the right support and determination, even long-standing problems can be overcome.
