Haryana has always been the cradle of Indian sports, producing athletes who bring glory to the nation on international platforms. However, the grassroots infrastructure often tells a different story. The Shiv Kumar Memorial Basketball Stadium in Kiloi village, Rohtak, is a prime example.
Known as one of the largest basketball academies in Haryana, it frequently hosts National-level tournaments, inviting teams from the Army, Air Force, Railways, and Police departments from across India. Despite its prestige, the stadium was in a dilapidated state.
A Cry for Help Ignored by the System
The stadium’s infrastructure was crumbling. The bathrooms were broken, the water pipes were leaking, and there was a severe lack of proper accommodation, meeting halls, and kitchen facilities for the visiting national players. The local youth, who trained day and night to represent India, were forced to practice in a severely unequipped environment. The stadium committee had limited funds, and governmental support was either delayed or insufficient to cover the massive repair costs.
When the system failed them, the stadium committee and the elders of Kiloi village turned to the ultimate benefactor—SATGURU Rampal Ji Maharaj. They submitted an application on the academy’s letterhead, detailing their dire needs.
A 30-Lakh Transformation by Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj
What happened next left the entire village and the sports community astounded. Satguru Rampal Ji Maharaj immediately accepted their plea and dispatched His dedicated Sewadars (disciples) to commence the work without asking for a single penny from the committee.

The massive renovation and construction project included:
- 12 New Toilets & 12 Bathrooms: Built from scratch to provide hygienic facilities for the hundreds of players who visit the academy.
- A Massive Meeting Hall: Constructed for team briefings, strategies, and indoor activities.
- Kitchen and Storeroom: A fully functional kitchen was built to prepare meals for the athletes, along with a storeroom for sports equipment.
- Renovation of Existing Structures: All the old, broken windows, doors, and leaking pipelines were completely repaired and replaced.
According to Jagmander, a committee member, “Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj has invested around ₹30 to 35 Lakhs in this stadium. He didn’t question our demands; He just fulfilled them instantly. We didn’t have to worry about anything.”
Sponsoring the National Tournament and the Grand ‘Bhandara’
The generosity of Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj didn’t stop at bricks and mortar. For the past three years, the Satlok Ashram has been the backbone of the All-India Basketball Tournament held at this stadium.
Vijender Hooda, the Head Coach of the stadium, explained the magnitude of this support: “During the 3-day national tournament, teams from all over India come to play. The entire cost of food and accommodation is borne by Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj. He runs a massive ‘Bhandara’ (free community feast) where not just the players, but anyone from the surrounding 7-8 villages can come and eat. It costs around ₹5 Lakhs just for the food, and Guru Ji handles it all flawlessly.”
A Vision for a Golden India
The Sewadars working day and night at the stadium explained that this service is part of Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj’s vision to make India a “Golden Bird” (Sone Ki Chidiya) once again. A volunteer named Jitendra Das said, “Guru Ji teaches us to live for others. By providing these facilities, the players can focus entirely on their game without worrying about basic amenities. This will produce world-class athletes who will make our country proud.”
This initiative is also linked to the “Annapurna Muhim,” whose core philosophy is “Roti, Kapda, Shiksha, Chikitsa aur Makan; Har Garib ko dega Kabir Bhagwan” (Food, Clothing, Education, Health and Shelter; God Kabir will provide to every poor).
A True Saint’s Blessing
The transformation of the Shiv Kumar Memorial Stadium in Kiloi is a testament to what true spiritual leadership can achieve. While politicians make promises before elections, Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj is quietly building the nation’s future without any selfish motives. Today, the young athletes of Kiloi are practicing with renewed vigor, knowing that their True Guru has provided them with the wings to fly and conquer the world of sports.
