Fatehabad, Haryana: When natural adversity combines with administrative failure, it is often humanity and spirituality that restore hope for distressed farmers. A similar instance has unfolded in Gadli village of Bhattu tehsil in Haryana’s Fatehabad district. The village had been battling an acute sem (waterlogging and salinity) crisis that rendered fertile land barren. Even 18 government-installed solar tube wells failed to drain the excess water. At this critical juncture, the Annapurna Muhim led by Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj emerged as a decisive support system for the village.
Key Facts Related to the ‘Sem’ Crisis in Gadli, Fatehabad:
- Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj arranged the supply of 13,200 feet of 8-inch pipeline and three 10 HP motors to Gadli village.
- The village panchayat submitted an appeal, and within just seven days, the complete relief consignment reached the village.
- Along with motors and pipelines, essential accessories such as starters, couplings, nuts, bolts, and even adhesives were provided.
- Overwhelmed by the support, village sarpanch Sunita Devi welcomed the relief convoy and the portrait of Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj by walking barefoot in reverence.
18 Government Tube Wells Proved Ineffective
Villagers and the sarpanch stated that the severity of the sem problem had destroyed standing crops entirely. To address the crisis, the government installed 18 solar tube wells, but they proved inadequate. Citing resource constraints, the administration eventually removed its equipment. Farmers were left disheartened as the sowing window for the Rabi crop—particularly wheat—was rapidly closing, with nearly 1.5 feet of stagnant water in the fields.
One Appeal, Relief in Seven Days
In despair, the gram panchayat and villagers submitted an application at the trust office of Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj. Within a week, their plea was addressed. When the relief convoy arrived in Gadli, it left villagers astonished.

Truckloads carrying 13,200 feet of pipeline and three high-capacity 10 HP motors reached the village. Volunteers said the Guru’s directive was clear: farmers should not have to purchase even a single item from outside. Consequently, every required component—from starters to the smallest accessories—was included.
A Firm Directive from Guru Ji
Along with the relief materials, Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj sent a written message emphasizing accountability and outcomes. The message stated that the objective was not publicity but tangible results on the ground. Regardless of cost, the water must be drained and the next crop sown. It further cautioned that if, despite receiving assistance, the village failed to ensure drainage and sowing, no future support would be extended by the trust.
Sarpanch Sunita Devi Welcomes the Relief Barefoot
As the relief materials arrived, a celebratory atmosphere prevailed in the village. Sarpanch Sunita Devi personally led the welcome. In a gesture of deep respect and gratitude, she removed her footwear and walked barefoot to receive the portrait of Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj and the volunteers.

Expressing her emotions, Sunita Devi said, “We submitted our prayer to Guru Ji barely five to ten days ago. The government took back whatever help it had provided, but Guru Ji responded to a single appeal by sending equipment worth lakhs of rupees. This support is permanent for our village. I am confident that water will now be drained from our fields and wheat sowing will be possible. I thank Guru Ji from the depths of my heart.”
Villagers Say, “Even God Could Not Have Done More”
Elderly villagers remarked that in times when even close relatives hesitate to help, Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj extended assistance worth lakhs without any personal interaction. One villager said emotionally, “We were exhausted from running pillar to post at government offices. No one listened. Here, a single application triggered immediate action. For us, Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj is no less than God. What the government and elected representatives could not achieve, a saint accomplished.”For more information, visit SA News YouTube Channel.
