On humanitarian grounds, AIIMS Delhi by partnering with Rotaplast International, USA has launched “Rotary Restoring Smiles: International Reconstructive Surgery Mission & Education Clinic”. This event was scheduled from August 19 and will end on August 20th. This programme initiative is targeted to treat unprivileged burn victims through free constructive surgeries. Further details are disclosed in the article.
The Scenario of Burn Injuries in India
Burn injuries are one of the serious public health concerns in India, with an estimated 6-7 million incidents every year. Around 80% of these develop burn related complications, giving deformities, long term physical, mental and social challenges in return.
The Specialisation of AIIMS in Burn Injuries
AIIMS Delhi is known for ‘Centre for Excellence in Burns’ providing advanced care to various patients every year. The Burn & Plastic Surgery (BPS) Block offers:
- Care to 10,000 burn patients annually
- 2,000 patients admitted
- 24×7 dedicated burn emergency services
- 65 beds
- 20 ICU beds
- Specialised support from dieticians, physiotherapists, and psychologists
Mission Highlights: Treatment & Training
The present initiative is aimed at treating patients on burn reconstruction surgeries. Surgeons and anesthesiologists have collaborated from various countries including USA, UK, Phillipines, Netherlands and India for this initiative.
As of 20th August 2025, 10 patients have been registered out of which 40% are ABPMJAY beneficiaries as well. It is expected that more than 50 people will undergo surgeries from this initiative.
AIIMS Delhi has planned to train its senior residents as well with an education clinic on Plastic Surgery and Anesthesiology. This would give them double benefits with a new generation of skilled healers as well.
Rotoplast’s Contribution Globally
The primary aim of Rotoplast is to share expertise and best practices are shared across the globe. Rotoplast has given 2500+ hours of training on cleft and burn care to 180 surgeons and anesthesiologists across 6 sites in 4 countries. Dr. Sangita Seshadri, Mission Director, Rotaplast International further added, “Our global team is honoured to be in partnership with AIIMS and Rotary in this initiative. Each surgery performed is not a medical treatment but it’s a chance for patients to reclaim their lives”.
Transforming Lives Beyond Treatment
This initiative is a global initiative healing lives beyond imagination. It is not only providing physical healing from deformities but also restoring lives as well. On humanitarian grounds, this is indeed an act of excellence and appreciation. However, the one that heals everything, from cancer to HIV AIDS, nothing is impossible for the ultimate healer, Supreme God Kabir.
We should seek the refuge of Supreme God Kabir through His Complete Saint, Jagatguru Tatvdarshi Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj. By doing the worship given by the Complete Saint, we can get relief from life threatening diseases as well. The powers in the word of God Kabir’s Complete Saint transcends every imagination. It is capable of doing the impossible.
Therefore, we should not delay this prime opportunity as this human life is very rare and as an opportunist, we should make the most of it.
