The initiative is intended to address the accumulation of stagnant rainwater that has reportedly affected residential areas, the BPL colony and approximately 10 to 11 acres of agricultural land.
Overflowing Pond Causes Waterlogging in Residential Areas
During periods of rainfall, the water level in Baba Bhaiya Wala Johad reportedly rises significantly. Overflow from the pond has subsequently spread into nearby residential areas and agricultural fields.
The BPL colony and surrounding houses have reportedly been among the affected areas. Stagnant water around residential properties has disrupted the daily movement of residents and created difficulties in accessing homes and local roads.
The prolonged accumulation of dirty water has also raised concerns regarding sanitation and public health, particularly because stagnant water can provide breeding conditions for mosquitoes and other disease-carrying organisms.
10 to 11 Acres of Farmland Submerged
Agriculture has also been directly affected by the waterlogging. According to information provided by local representatives, approximately 10 to 11 acres of agricultural land were submerged.
The affected fields reportedly contained standing paddy crops. Prolonged submersion posed a risk to the crop and raised concerns about farmers being able to prepare the land for the upcoming wheat-sowing season.
With wheat sowing expected within two to three months, timely removal of the accumulated water was considered necessary to allow the fields to dry and be prepared for the next crop.
Gram Panchayat Seeks Assistance From Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj
To seek a permanent solution to the waterlogging problem, the Gram Panchayat of Gijarodh submitted a formal request to Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj under the Kisan Majdoor Bachao Abhiyan.
According to the information provided, Sarpanch Naresh Kumar approached Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj on a Sunday to seek assistance with the drainage problem.
The request was followed by a rapid technical assessment. Within approximately 24 hours, a survey team reportedly reached Gijarodh on the instructions of Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj.
Technical Team Conducts On-Site Survey
The survey team conducted a ground inspection of Baba Bhaiya Wala Johad, the BPL colony, affected residential areas and the submerged agricultural fields. The team also assessed the proposed route for transporting excess water from the overflowing pond to another designated pond. The drainage route was measured at approximately 5,200 feet.
The Gram Panchayat had initially estimated that 5,000 feet of pipeline and two 10-HP motors would be required. However, after conducting the technical assessment, the survey team determined that a 5,200-foot, eight-inch pipeline and one 10-HP motor would be sufficient for the proposed water-transfer system.
Sarpanch Naresh Kumar and the Gram Panchayat reportedly accepted the technical findings. Following submission of the survey report, Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj approved the relief request.
5,200-Foot Pipeline and 10-HP Motor Delivered
Following His approval, volunteers delivered the drainage equipment to Gijarodh on the third day after the request. The material included 5,200 feet of eight-inch PVC pipeline, one 10-HP water-extraction motor and a complete set of supporting drainage and assembly accessories.
Before the handover, volunteers reportedly organized a Mangalacharan ceremony. A portrait of Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj was placed at the site, after which villagers and Gram Panchayat representatives welcomed the volunteers with flower garlands. The equipment was subsequently handed over to the Gram Panchayat after on-site receipt and verification.

Complete Drainage Assembly Provided
Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj provided the Gram Panchayat with the major equipment as well as supporting components required for the proposed drainage installation.
The material package includes an L&T (Larsen & Toubro) motor starter and electrical wiring, a 20-foot suction pipe, PVC pipes and bend joints, iron bends and plates, Favicol adhesive, Jain gasket or sealing materials, air valves, reducers and steel nuts and bolts.
According to the supplied information, these accessories were provided along with the primary equipment so that the Gram Panchayat would have the necessary components for assembling the drainage system.
Water Drainage Planned Toward Secondary Pond
The proposed system will use the 10-HP motor and 5,200-foot pipeline to transfer accumulated water from Baba Bhaiya Wala Johad and the surrounding affected area toward a secondary pond located approximately 5,200 feet away.
The drainage arrangement is intended to reduce the quantity of stagnant water in the BPL colony and surrounding residential areas while also removing excess water from agricultural fields.
If implemented successfully, the system could allow the affected farmland to dry sufficiently for further cultivation activities.
Expected Benefits for Agriculture and Residents
The proposed drainage system is intended to address several consequences of the waterlogging.
First, removing excess water could prevent dirty pond water from continuing to enter the BPL colony and nearby residential properties. Lowering the amount of stagnant water may also reduce conditions favorable to mosquito breeding and other sanitation-related concerns.
For farmers, draining the submerged 10 to 11 acres could help protect standing paddy crops from prolonged water exposure. Drying the fields in time could also allow farmers to prepare the land for wheat sowing expected in the following two to three months. Restoring access around residential areas could further improve movement for local residents.
Other Welfare Initiatives Associated With Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj
During the material handover, information was also shared regarding other welfare initiatives associated with Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj.
