Waterlogging Affected Farmers for Decades
According to villagers and Panchayat representatives, the village had been facing waterlogging for nearly 40 to 45 years. Every monsoon, around 150 to 200 acres of agricultural land were submerged, damaging standing crops and affecting farming activities.
The problem also impacted around 30 to 40 dhanis, where families were forced to leave their homes during heavy rainfall and stay with relatives or at other locations for nearly one-and-a-half to two months. Villagers said water levels often reached four to five feet, making movement difficult for both residents and livestock.
Gram Panchayat Sought Assistance
The Gram Panchayat stated that repeated requests had earlier been made to the administration and public representatives, but a permanent solution could not be achieved.
Village representatives then approached Tatvdarshi Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj and submitted a prayer requesting assistance. Initially, the Panchayat estimated that around 3,000 feet of pipeline and one motor would be required to improve water drainage.
Technical Survey Revised the Requirement
Following the request, Tatvdarshi Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj ordered an immediate technical survey. According to the survey team, the Panchayat had not yet returned to the village when the team reached the site.
Using drones and modern surveying methods, the affected area was examined in the presence of Panchayat representatives. The survey found that the actual requirement was greater than initially estimated.
Instead of 3,000 feet, the technical assessment identified the need for a 5,400-foot pipeline along with one 20 HP motor for effective drainage.
Relief Material Approved and Handed Over
After the survey report was submitted, the assistance was approved.
The approved material handed over to the Gram Panchayat included:
- 5,400-foot pipeline
- Air valves
- Nuts and bolts
- SR
- Fevicol
- Other required pipeline accessories
The survey team stated that the 20 HP motor would be provided after the pipeline is laid underground and a follow-up survey confirms its installation.
Villagers Describe Quick Response
During interactions recorded in the village, Panchayat representatives said they had expected the process to take one or two months before the monsoon. However, they stated that the survey was conducted immediately after their request and that the approved pipeline material reached the village the following day.
According to the Sarpanch representative, the village community had approached several authorities earlier regarding the recurring flooding but had not received a permanent solution. He said farmers were relieved after the approval of the drainage support.
Other villagers also said they were surprised by the speed of the survey and assistance process and expressed hope that the new drainage arrangement would help reduce future waterlogging.
Farmers Explain the Impact of Flooding
Villagers said waterlogging affected crops such as paddy, cotton, bajra and jowar. Besides crop losses, livestock had to be shifted to safer places during heavy rainfall.

Some residents explained that water accumulated in the low-lying area beyond the canal, creating severe difficulties for families living in the dhanis. They said rescue efforts sometimes became necessary when flood water levels increased significantly.
Villagers expressed hope that the approved drainage arrangement would improve conditions before future monsoon seasons.
Panchayat Plans Underground Installation
Panchayat representatives said the pipeline would be laid underground as early as possible so that the work could be completed before the paddy season and the arrival of the monsoon.
They added that once the underground installation is completed, the survey team will be informed. A follow-up verification will then be conducted, after which the approved 20 HP motor will be made available in accordance with the survey process.
Dholu Village Looks Ahead to Improved Drainage
The Gram Panchayat and villagers said they expect the approved drainage system to provide long-term relief from the recurring waterlogging problem. They believe the installation of the 5,400-foot pipeline, followed by the approved 20 HP motor after verification, will help protect agricultural land, reduce difficulties faced by families living in the affected dhanis and improve farming conditions in the coming monsoon seasons.
