Recently, several rural areas of Punjab and Haryana faced a severe natural disaster caused by flooding and waterlogging. This crisis created a serious threat to the livelihoods of thousands of farmers and laborers.

When government systems and administrative efforts failed to bring the situation under control, a large-scale relief campaign led by Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj under the ‘Annapurna Muhim’ helped save farmers in Dujowal and Bedi Chhanna (Amritsar, Punjab) and Dhani Kumharan (Hisar, Haryana) from massive devastation.

Ground Reality of the Disaster in Two States

The flood and waterlogging situation in both regions was extremely severe:

Border Villages Submerged (Dujowal and Bedi Chhanna, Amritsar, Punjab)

Due to the breach of the Madhopur Dam, 5,700 acres of land in the border villages of Dujowal and Bedi Chhanna in Amritsar were submerged under 10 feet of water.

The ready paddy crop was completely destroyed, and farmers were pushed under immense debt.

To address this emergency, under the ‘Annapurna Muhim,’ two powerful 15 HP motors along with a 4,500-foot-long 8-inch pipeline were immediately provided free of cost by Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj. Water drainage operations began on a war footing.

Severe Economic Crisis in Dhani Kumharan (Hisar, Haryana)

In Dhani Kumharan, Hisar, waterlogging rendered hundreds of acres of fertile land unusable. Cattle fodder was completely destroyed. The village economy suffered so badly that daily wage laborers had to travel nearly 30 kilometers every day for work.

To address this crisis, under the directions of Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj, one powerful 15 HP motor and 12,000 feet of pipeline were initially provided under the ‘Annapurna Muhim.’ To accelerate relief operations, another 15 HP motor and 4,000 feet of pipeline were later dispatched.

For weeks, farmers in these villages appealed to government offices for assistance, but no effective administrative support reached them at the ground level.

Beginning of the Annapurna Muhim Relief Operation

As the sowing season for the Rabi (wheat) crop was slipping away and hope for government assistance faded, the affected village councils from both states submitted appeals at the Munindra Dharmarth Trust Office.

What followed became a remarkable example of disaster management and humanitarian service.

Service Without Discrimination, Without Delay

As soon as the applications were received, Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj took immediate action without bureaucratic delays.

With the blessings and guidance of Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj, more than 16,500 feet of high-quality pipeline and multiple powerful 15 HP motors were installed across these villages.

Additionally, essential starters, heavy-duty cables, nuts, and bolts were also provided completely free of cost. This selfless service campaign stands as an inspiring example of humanitarian values and compassion.

While worldly systems often distribute assistance based on political interests, true spiritual principles teach equality and service to all. Under the ‘Annapurna Muhim,’ Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj demonstrated this ideal by extending help without discrimination and protecting humanity during a time of crisis.

From Water Drainage to Complete Sowing

The powerful motors installed by Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj worked continuously and successfully drained water from more than 6,000 acres of land beyond village boundaries.

Today, the situation in these villages of Punjab and Haryana has returned to normal. The lands of Dujowal, Bedi Chhanna, and Dhani Kumharan have dried up. Labor migration has stopped, and the fodder crisis has been resolved. Most importantly, wheat sowing is now progressing successfully across all these areas.

The villagers and farmers of both states clearly believe that if timely assistance had not been received after submitting their appeals to Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj, their agriculture and livelihoods would have been completely destroyed. For them, this noble humanitarian effort carried out by Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj feels nothing less than a divine blessing and a new lease on life.
