On Tuesday, 03 September 2025, the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) Board issued the revised SSC CGL Tier 1 2025 schedule on its official website – ssc.gov.in. Initially as per the notice dated 9th August 2025, the examination was scheduled to commence from 13th August and scheduled to end on 30th August, 2025. In the revised schedule, the examination details are shifted from 12th September to 26th September 2025 (including weekends as well). The examination city details are available on the website but admit cards are scheduled to be released 2-3 before the actual examination date.

What is SSC CGL?
The Staff Selection Commission board conducts the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) examination every year for recruiting candidates for various Group B (Gazetted and Non-Gazetted) and Group C positions across ministries and departments. These jobs include Income Tax Inspectors, Assistant Section Officers, Auditors, and Statistical Investigators. To be eligible for the examination, candidates must have a graduate degree from a recognised university.

Tier- I Exam Pattern
Computer based test of 100 MCQs covering four sections of 60 minutes:

SSC CGL 2025: Eligibility Criteria and Age Limit
Educational Qualifications (As on 01-08-2025)
- Junior Statistical Officer: Bachelor’s degree in any subject from a recognized university or institute with at least 60% marks in mathematics at 12th standard.
OR
Bachelor’s degree in any field is suitable but should shave statistics as one of its subjects.
- Statistical Investigator Grade-II: Bachelor’s degree in any subject with statistics as one of the subjects from a recognized university or institute. Study of part I, II and III of statistics is mandatory or in all semesters of a three year program.
- All other posts: A recognised Bachelor’s degree from a recognised educational institution

Age Limit (As on 01-08-2025)
To be eligible for examination, the candidate must satisfy the age criteria laid down by the Staff Selection and Commission.
