When a severe flood engulfed more than six thousand acres of farmland in Dhanana, a village in Bhiwani district of Haryana, the fields went under five to six feet of water, approximately 1.5 to 1.8 metres. Farmers began losing hope. Nearly three months of stagnant water had already destroyed every crop. Not a single straw of fodder was left for the cattle. Forced by circumstances, villagers had begun selling their livestock. Slow governmental procedures and inadequate support pushed the community into deeper despair.

In this unprecedented crisis, a large relief convoy reached Dhanana. This intervention was not limited to flood assistance alone. It became a lifeline for the farmers and restored hope across the village.
The Flood’s Destruction and the Failure of Government Systems
For three months, Dhanana (Tehsil Bhiwani, District Bhiwani) faced severe waterlogging, paralysing everyday life. More than 6000 acres of fertile land had turned into a swamp. Roads were blocked, the dispensary was shut, and schools were filled with water, halting children’s education. The scarcity of fodder forced villagers to sell their cattle.
Sarpanch Rajesh Kumar and other villagers shared that ministers, MLAs and opposition leaders visited the village, but their assurances led to no results. Motors were provided, but pipelines never arrived. Attempts to remove water only resulted in it flowing back into the fields. For three months, farmers were stuck between paperwork and unfulfilled promises. Some believed they would not survive the debt and hunger. A few even reached the brink of suicide.
An Application and Help Arriving in Less Than Twenty-Four Hours
When every other hope collapsed, the villagers heard from the nearby village Gujrani that Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj was conducting extensive flood-relief work. Holding onto this final thread of hope, the entire Gram Panchayat, led by Sarpanch Rajesh Kumar, reached Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj’s office in Barwala (Hisar) on 3 October.
They submitted an application through Munindra Dharmartha Trust, Kurukshetra (Registration Number 1170), requesting essential equipment to pump out floodwater.

Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj immediately accepted the request. Without waiting for any formalities, recommendations or bureaucratic delays, a massive relief convoy reached Dhanana on 4 October, in less than twenty-four hours. For the villagers, it felt nothing short of miraculous.
Accurate and High-Quality Supply of Relief Material
Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj not only fulfilled the village’s demands but ensured the highest quality and correct quantity of all materials. The Panchayat received:
• Pipeline: High-quality 8-inch diameter pipeline measuring 14,520 feet, approximately 4.4 kilometres.
• Motor Sets: Five large motors, including four 10 HP motors with 6-inch outlets and one 15 HP motor.
• Supporting Equipment: 100 feet of electric wire, five starters and all required accessories including bands, trollies, connectors, assemblies, clips, nuts and bolts. Every cost, even as small as ten rupees, was covered so that villagers incurred no expense.
Volunteers stated that this entire service is carried out by their Guru with complete selflessness and without any political motive. The only purpose is the welfare of society.
Purpose and Instructions of the Annapurna Muhim
This relief action is part of Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj’s Annapurna Muhim, under which support is provided in the form of food, clothing, education, medical care and housing. For Dhanana, the Muhim was extended with the specific aim of saving the next crop cycle. Through His volunteers, Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj issued a formal instruction letter to the Gram Panchayat:
“Use as much material as required, but the village must be drained completely. If the provided material fails to remove water on time and the sowing does not take place, then no further assistance will be provided from our Trust.”

He also instructed the team to record drone footage, both while the water remained and after the land dried and crops flourished, to demonstrate proper utilisation of donations offered by His followers. Being from a farmer’s family Himself, He understands farmers’ suffering and aims to ensure no farmer reaches a point of despair.
Public Sentiment: “God is known through actions, not pictures”
This swift and effective support deeply moved the villagers. Former Sarpanch Leelaram and other Panchayat members said that Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj appeared as a saviour for the farmers. One villager, overwhelmed with emotion, said, “We had not seen God before, but today He has shown Himself.”
According to the villagers, the government gave assurances for three months, yet Sant Ji resolved their biggest problem within twenty-four hours of a single application. Many compared Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj to Lord Ram and offered a cloth at His feet as a gesture of reverence. One farmer remarked, “God is not in pictures. The one who acts is the real God.”
Volunteers added that their Guru has already provided aid to more than 300 flood-affected villages. The campaign continues across Punjab, Uttarakhand, Himachal and Jammu and Kashmir, reflecting His selfless service and commitment to national welfare.
Moving Towards a Permanent Solution: A Historic Step
The relief materials for Dhanana are not just immediate assistance but a long-term solution. Farmers were advised to bury the pipelines underground so that future rainwater could be drained out promptly, permanently preventing waterlogging.
This invaluable support will protect both current and future crops. The assistance not only rescued the village from the present crisis but strengthened it for the future. The social contribution made by Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj stands as a remarkable example in Indian history, demonstrating that the service of a true Saint can be more swift, effective and result-oriented than any governmental or political system.
