The Calamity of Floods and Administrative Indifference
Khedar village had been enduring the horrific tragedy of floods for several days. Approximately 5,000 acres of agricultural land in the village was completely submerged under two to three feet of water. The paddy crops were destroyed, water had filled the villagers’ homes and dhanis (traditional settlements) up to waist level, completely disrupting normal life. A crisis of fodder for livestock had emerged, and children’s school attendance had also stopped.
In this dire situation, villagers appealed to the administration and local people’s representatives for help, but received nothing except hollow assurances. According to Sarpanch representative Jaypal, “All the MLAs, MPs, Ministers come, give assurances, and files keep moving. If water drainage doesn’t happen on time, what use is that to help us?” Due to this administrative indifference, worry lines deepened on villagers’ foreheads, especially farmers, as the wheat sowing season was passing and their future appeared bleak.
A Newspaper Report Becomes a Ray of Hope
When disappointment was overwhelming from all sides, a news report in Dainik Jagran newspaper became a ray of hope for Khedar village. A village resident, Subhash, read in the newspaper that Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj’s organization had provided significant help to nearby flood-affected villages, Gurana and Badhawad, by delivering motors and pipes for water drainage.

This news infused new hope among Khedar’s villagers. They discussed among themselves and immediately contacted Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj’s followers. The Gram Panchayat unitedly prepared a prayer letter describing the village’s pitiable condition and demanding immediate assistance. Taking this prayer letter, the Sarpanch representative, Gaushala head, and other panch-members reached the ashram located in Barwala and submitted their petition at Sant Ji’s feet.
Petition Accepted, Crores Worth Relief Arrives Within 24 Hours
Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj accepted Khedar Gram Panchayat’s prayer with unprecedented promptness. Within hours of receiving the petition, He issued orders to send relief material. His sevadars (volunteers) worked day and night to deliver everything the villagers had requested to Khedar village within just 24 hours. The volume of relief material was so vast that a convoy of 10 to 12 pickup trucks arrived at the village to transport it.

Major Material Delivered:
- Pipeline: 44,000 feet long, 8-inch thick pipeline.
- Motors: Five large, 15 Horse Power (HP) powerful motors.
- Electrical Cable: 600 meters long heavy-duty electrical wire.
- Other Materials: Starters for running motors, nuts-bolts, clips, Fevicol for joining pipes, and every small and large fitting item.
Seeing this swift and comprehensive assistance, villagers were amazed and overwhelmed. They had never even imagined that their prayer would receive such quick attention on this scale.
Responsibility Pledge Along with Help
The most unique aspect of Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj’s mission was that He didn’t consider His duty complete merely by providing material, but also took responsibility for ensuring proper utilization of this aid and permanent relief from floods for the village. Along with the material, His followers also handed a “request letter” to the Gram Panchayat.

This letter clearly stated, “No matter how much material is required, but water must be drained from the village.” The letter also mentioned that if water doesn’t drain within the stipulated time with the given material and the next crop sowing cannot happen, the fault would be considered that of the villagers, and in future, the trust would not help their village. Additionally, assurance was given that if more material was needed, they could pray again without hesitation.

To make this initiative completely transparent, the trust also announced plans to create three drone videos: first, of the water-filled village; second, after water drainage; and third, when crops would be flourishing in the fields. These videos would be shown in all satsangs and congregations so that donors could be confident that their money was being utilized properly.
Farmers Express Gratitude, Say “Not a Saint, but God”
Upon receiving this unprecedented help, the joy of Khedar village people knew no bounds. They wholeheartedly thanked and praised Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj and his entire team. A villager emotionally said, “We are very happy. No one does such work like Rampal Ji Maharaj. The government gives assurances and leaves, but doesn’t work.”
The Sarpanch representative said, “The day before yesterday we submitted our petition and today the team has arrived in our village with complete material. Guru Ji is no less than any god.” Villagers assured that they would live up to 100% of the pledge given by Sant Ji and would free their village from floods with double effort so that the next wheat crop could be sown on time.
Ultimately, this incident in Khedar village is not just an example of relief work, but proof of how even the greatest disasters can be overcome through true service, right intentions, and efficient management. Sant Rampal Ji has not only rescued a village from physical crisis but also ignited belief in millions of farmers’ hearts that humanity and compassion are still alive today.
