The Haryana Government is set to redefine its industrial landscape with a visionary plan to establish 10 new Industrial Model Townships (IMTs) across the state. Six of these IMTs are already in progress, and over 7,000 acres of land have been voluntarily registered by farmers under the land pooling policy. The government has clarified that no forced land acquisition will take place, ensuring a farmer-friendly approach to industrial expansion.

Among these IMTs, one township will be developed entirely through Japanese investment, symbolizing the deep trust and cooperation between Haryana and Japan. This initiative is expected to generate large-scale employment and introduce advanced industrial technology into the state.

A Vision Rooted in Agriculture and Technology

Being a farmer himself, Chief Minister Saini emphasized Japan’s technological advancement in the agricultural sector. During his visit to Kubota’s Tractor Plant in Osaka, he highlighted the potential for Haryana to become a major hub for agricultural equipment manufacturing. He noted that the synergy between Haryana’s hardworking farmers and Japan’s cutting-edge technology could set new benchmarks in modern agriculture.

Saini’s visit symbolically made him a “Farmer Ambassador” of the state, representing the aspirations of millions of cultivators who can benefit from this cross-cultural exchange of innovation and skill.

Haryana and Japan: Decades of Trust and Collaboration

The Chief Minister highlighted that Japan’s investment journey in Haryana dates back to the 1980s, when Maruti Suzuki established its first manufacturing unit in Gurugram. That landmark project revolutionized India’s mobility sector and laid the foundation for Haryana’s modern industrial ecosystem.

Today, more than 600 Japanese companies operate in the state, primarily in Gurugram and surrounding regions, making Haryana India’s most trusted destination for Japanese businesses.

Saini reaffirmed Haryana’s commitment to continuing this partnership through progressive industrial policies focusing on electronics, auto components, electric vehicles, battery storage, and green hydrogen.

Strengthening Bilateral Ties and Shared Values

During his meeting with Shimane Prefecture Governor Tatsuya Maruyama, CM Saini explored new opportunities in technology exchange, innovation, and joint ventures. Speaking at the Haryana–Shimane Prefecture Roadshow in Tokyo, he described the deep cultural and spiritual ties between India and Japan.

He stated, “Haryana is the sacred land of Dharmakshetra–Kurukshetra, where Lord Krishna delivered the divine message of the Bhagavad Gita. Our relationship with Japan is rooted in shared values, trust, and a vision for mutual prosperity.”

Saini invited global investors to experience Haryana’s dynamic industrial growth and contribute to shaping a forward-looking partnership between the two regions.

The Road Ahead: Haryana as India’s Global Growth Hub

Chief Minister Saini’s Japan visit is not just an investment drive, it marks the beginning of a shared journey toward making Haryana a Global Growth Hub. With Japan’s support, the state aims to lead India’s march toward Viksit Bharat 2047, emphasizing collaboration in automation, artificial intelligence, IoT, and robotics.

The synergy between Japan’s innovation and Haryana’s youthful talent will pave the way for sustainable development, innovation-driven industries, and global competitiveness. The state’s participation in the World Expo 2025 in Osaka further showcased this emerging partnership, positioning Haryana as a model of industrial transformation.

Haryana’s New Dawn of Global Collaboration and Growth

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini’s Japan visit has set the stage for Haryana’s next industrial revolution. With ₹5,000 crore in investments, 13,000 new jobs, and the foundation of a “Mini Japan City,” this journey signifies more than economic growth; it’s a story of global trust, shared values, and visionary leadership. The partnership between Haryana and Japan now stands as a model of progress, combining technological innovation with human development and spiritual balance.
