Mathura, Uttar Pradesh: Farmers in Srinagar village of Barsana in Govardhan tehsil had been standing helpless on their own land for nearly three months as floodwater submerged fields and destroyed crops. Cotton plants had rotted in stagnant water and hopes of wheat sowing had nearly faded. With hundreds of bighas of farmland affected and daily life disrupted by waterlogging, villagers sought help to drain the accumulated water. Relief equipment including pipes, a high-capacity motor and electrical wiring has now been delivered to the Gram Panchayat to enable water drainage from the flooded fields and help farmers prepare land for the next crop cycle.

  • Floodwater remained in Srinagar village fields for around three months.
  • Cotton crops rotted in water and wheat sowing was at risk.
  • Approximately 200–250 bigha of farmland was affected by waterlogging.
  • Villagers had approached Tatvdarshi Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj Ji’s committee with a prayer for assistance.
  • Relief materials delivered included:
    • 3700 feet of 8-inch pipes
    • 15 HP water pump motor
    • 1000 feet electric wire
    • Automatic starter and assembly components
  • Equipment was handed over to Gram Panchayat Srinagar for permanent use.
  • The support was provided by Tatvadarshi Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj under the Annapurna Muhim.

Months of Floodwater Leave Farmers in Crisis

The story unfolds in Srinagar village of Barsana, Govardhan tehsil in Mathura district, an area traditionally associated with agriculture. For nearly three months, the landscape resembled a lake rather than farmland. What appeared from a distance like a scenic water body was in fact fields submerged under stagnant floodwater.

Farmers said cotton crops had already been destroyed after standing in water for weeks. The damage also meant that wheat sowing, the next agricultural cycle was under threat, raising concerns about livelihoods.

The flooding affected several hundred bighas of agricultural land, and farmers reported that water had accumulated across large stretches of farmland.

Villagers also described broader disruptions caused by the situation:

  • Roads were waterlogged, making movement difficult.
  • Dispensary services had stopped functioning.
  • Schools had water inside the premises, preventing children from attending classes.
  • Loss of crops meant fodder shortages for livestock.

The situation affected people across communities, with residents describing it as a challenge for “36 biradari”, meaning all sections of the village population.

Earlier Attempts by Authorities

Residents said Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Minister Laxmi Narayan Ji had visited the village earlier. Local authorities and the Nagar Panchayat attempted to provide assistance, including arranging submersible pumps, cables and electricity connections.

However, villagers said these measures were not enough to solve the large-scale waterlogging problem.

As the crisis continued, village representatives decided to seek help elsewhere.

Villagers Approached Jagatguru Tatvdarshi Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj

When government efforts could not completely resolve the problem, the representatives of the village reached the Muninder Dharmarth Trust office in Barwala of Tatvdarshi Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj and submitted a request seeking help.

According to the villagers, their appeal resulted in a response within a short period.

Residents said they expected official processes to take two to three months, but relief material arrived within about a week after the request.

Relief Convoy Arrives in Srinagar

A convoy carrying relief equipment reached Gram Panchayat Srinagar, where villagers gathered to receive the materials.

The vehicles carried banners of the Annapurna Muhim, under which Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj Ji provided assistance.

Before the materials were handed over, His photograph was brought to the Panchayat venue, where villagers gathered to welcome the convoy. Women, elders and children assembled at the site, and floral garlands were offered.

Villagers raised slogans expressing gratitude as the convoy entered the village.

Village representatives stated that the materials matched what they had earlier requested in a written letter.

Panchayat Accepts Responsibility to Drain Water

During the event, a formal letter was read out to the Gram Panchayat. The document stated that the materials were being provided with the expectation that villagers would use them to ensure that floodwater was drained and fields were prepared for cultivation.

The Panchayat representatives accepted the conditions and assured that:

  • The equipment would be installed quickly.
  • Water would be drained from the fields.
  • Farmland would be prepared for the next sowing season.

Permanent Infrastructure for Future Flooding

Village representatives said the drainage system would also help prevent similar problems in future years.

Residents explained that the farmland in the area is slightly lower than surrounding terrain, which causes rainwater to accumulate.

They said installing pipelines and pumps permanently would allow them to quickly remove water whenever heavy rainfall occurs.

One village representative noted that the infrastructure could become a long-term solution to waterlogging, helping protect crops in future seasons.

Honour Ceremony by Village Leaders

As a mark of respect, the Gram Panchayat and village leaders presented a ceremonial turban to Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj Ji.

Residents said the gesture represented their gratitude for the assistance provided to the farmers of Srinagar.

Several villagers also expressed appreciation for the discipline and coordination of the volunteers who delivered the equipment.

Social Worker Calls the Effort a Major Service

A local social worker present at the event described the assistance as significant for the farming community.

He said that removing water from around 200–250 bigha of land would allow farmers to resume agricultural activities.

The speaker also observed that service efforts supporting farmers and labourers have a wider impact, because agricultural income sustains many rural households.

Equipment Handed Over to Gram Panchayat

The materials were formally handed over to Gram Panchayat Srinagar, with confirmation that all items mentioned in the request letter had been received.

Residents expressed hope that the drainage infrastructure would help solve what they described as a long-standing waterlogging problem.

Many villagers said that once water is removed, farmland can be prepared again for crop cultivation.

The Divine Command of Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj Ji

According to the sacred directive of Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj Ji, every village that has received assistance must ensure that the relief materials provided, such as motors and pipelines, are used effectively so that no farmer’s field remains flooded and the next crop can be sown on time. His order clearly states that even if more materials are needed, they should be requested without hesitation, but under no circumstance should water remain stagnant. The Saint has blessed the villagers, saying that this aid must become a permanent solution for their suffering, a gift from Supreme God Kabir Ji through His grace. He also instructed that if the given resources are not utilized properly and the water is not drained, future assistance will be withheld. Through this divine command, Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj Ji has shown that real devotion means timely service, discipline, and accountability towards humanity.
