For a farmer, land is life. But for the residents of Dulhada village in the Bahadurabad Tehsil of Jhajjar district, Haryana, their land had become a watery grave for their dreams. For over three months, continuous, unseasonal rains and subsequent flooding had submerged more than 200 acres of agricultural land and residential areas. The Kharif crop (paddy) was entirely destroyed, rotting beneath the stagnant water.
The emotional and financial toll was devastating. A farmer named Mahendra had leased 200 acres to plant paddy; out of that, 125 acres were completely wiped out, causing a loss of millions of rupees. As another village elder noted, “A farmer plants a crop hoping to fund his daughter’s wedding or build a house. But the rain washed all those dreams away.”
The Administration’s Apathy and a Desperate Plea
In the face of this natural disaster, the villagers turned to the government. However, the response they received broke their spirits. A villager painfully recalled, “The government literally raised its hands. They told us that in times of natural calamity, we must protect ourselves.”
Some pipes were provided by the authorities, but they were woefully inadequate to drain the massive volume of water. The villagers were terrified because if the water wasn’t drained immediately, sowing the upcoming Rabi (wheat) crop would be impossible, pushing the entire village into starvation.
Left to the mercy of nature, the Gram Panchayat of Dulhada decided to seek help from SATGURU Rampal Ji Maharaj. They went to the Muninder Dharmarth Trust office in Barwala, Haryana and submitted an earnest plea.
Help Arrives in the Dark of the Night
Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj’s compassion knows no office hours. Just a day after the plea was submitted, and even though it was past 9:00 PM and pitch dark, a massive relief convoy entered Dulhera. The arrival of the trucks turned the villagers’ despair into tears of joy.
The relief package sent by Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj included:
- 5,000 Feet of Pipe: Massive 8-inch pipes to carry the floodwater safely out of the village.
- Three 15 HP Motors: Heavy-duty, powerful motors designed to pump out water relentlessly.
- Complete Setup: The disciples (Sewadars) brought everything required for installation—starters, cables, elbows, suction pipes, rubber gaskets, and even the smallest steel nuts and bolts.
The Sarpanch of Dulhera, Monu, was overwhelmed. He addressed the gathering, saying, “We went just yesterday, and today the help is here. This level of arrangement and pure intention cannot be found anywhere else. Our next crop is saved, and we are forever indebted to Guru Ji.”

”Not Even a Biological Father Cares This Much”
The emotional response from the villagers was profound. One villager made a statement that touched everyone’s heart: “What Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj is doing for us, even a biological father wouldn’t do.”
Mahendra, the farmer who lost 125 acres, expressed his immense relief: “No one else in Haryana has done what Maharaj Ji has done. Now, at least we can sow the wheat crop and survive the year. He has given us a lifeline.”
A Permanent Gift and a Vow of Gratitude
The Sewadars made it clear that this multi-lakh rupee equipment was a permanent gift to Dulhera. The Panchayat was asked to construct small sheds (Kothris) to safely store the motors for future emergencies. In return, the Ashram placed only one condition on the village: ensure that the water is drained and the fields are sown, so that no one goes hungry.
To honor this unparalleled grace, the Gram Panchayat of Dulhada presented a traditional Pagdi (turban) and a memento to the Sewadars. In Haryana, offering a Pagdi is the highest form of respect, symbolizing the surrender of one’s honor and head at the feet of the Savior.
A Milestone of Humanity
The story of Dulhada is not just about 5,000 feet of pipe; it is about restoring faith in humanity and God. When the system abandoned the farmers, Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj embraced them. Today, the pumps are roaring, the water is receding, and the fields of Dulhada are breathing again. The farmers have realized that as long as true Saints exist on earth, they will never be left to drown in their miseries.
