For several weeks, the village had been suffering from severe waterlogging, where fields once stood submerged under five to seven feet (about 1.5 to 2.1 metres) of water. Today, lush green wheat crops are flourishing across the same land. This extraordinary change is the result of the humanitarian vision of Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj and His Annapurna Muhim, which provided a new lease of life to struggling farmers.
The Devastation of Floodwaters and Administrative Neglect
The geographical conditions of Gyanpura village combined with heavy rainfall created a natural disaster that threatened the livelihood of the villagers. For nearly twenty days, about 1,500 acres of land remained completely submerged. The standing water in the fields had already destroyed the Kharif crops and was also eliminating the possibility of sowing for the upcoming Rabi season.

According to village sarpanch Manjeet Ji, nearly 800 to 900 acres of land had accumulated water up to five to seven feet deep. In this difficult situation, villagers repeatedly appealed to the government and local administration. A delegation visited the offices of the District Commissioner, Additional District Commissioner, and Sub Divisional Magistrate and submitted written applications.
However, the villagers received nothing but assurances and disappointment. This indifference from the administration broke the farmers both financially and mentally.

Annapurna Muhim: A Ray of Hope
When all governmental avenues were exhausted and farmers began losing hope, Sarpanch Manjeet Ji learned about the relief work being carried out in the neighbouring village of Gurana through Annapurna Muhim led by Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj. As a final attempt, the sarpanch along with fellow villagers travelled to Barwala and presented their situation before Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj.
Through Annapurna Muhim, Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj immediately accepted the appeal of Gyanpura village. Remarkably, within just 20 to 24 hours after the application was submitted, a massive convoy of relief materials arrived in the village. It contained all the modern and powerful equipment that villagers had been requesting from the government for days.
Allocation of Resources and Work at War Footing
Considering the urgent needs of the village, Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj provided five large branded electric motors of 20 horsepower capacity through Annapurna Muhim. In addition, 20,000 feet (about 6,096 metres) of eight inch pipelines were supplied for water drainage along with 600 feet (about 183 metres) of cable required for operating the motors.
The estimated cost of this relief material is reported to be approximately 20 to 25 lakh rupees (2 to 2.5 million). A social worker and former water supply department employee Om Prakash, popularly known in the region as “Roop Mantri”, provided technical leadership during the operation. He explained that the equipment supplied by Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj was powerful enough to remove the massive volume of water from the fields through continuous day and night efforts.
Young and elderly villagers worked together as a team and accomplished what the administration had refused even to attempt.
Contradictions Between Political Visits and Ground Reality
During the relief work, an incident occurred that raised serious questions about the political system. Villagers revealed that when news arrived about the Chief Minister’s visit, the administration arranged a few motors merely as a formality. The Chief Minister delivered speeches and claimed that drainage work had been completed. However, as soon as the official convoy left the village, the administration removed those motors.
Villagers described this as a political spectacle. In contrast, Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj quietly provided the necessary resources without seeking publicity or political advantage. According to the villagers, if these resources had not been provided, sowing would not have been possible in those fields for several years.
From Flood Devastation to Flourishing Crops
Today the landscape of Gyanpura village has completely transformed. Where once an endless expanse of floodwater was visible, wheat sowing has now been successfully completed on more than 700 acres of land. Sowing in the remaining 50 to 60 acres is also nearing completion.
With the blessings of Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj, farmers are now using the same pipes and equipment for irrigation of their crops. Farmers Harpal Rana and Wazir Singh expressed their happiness, saying they were at a loss for words. They shared that land which was not expected to yield crops even next year is now covered with greenery, bringing tears of joy to their eyes. This is not merely a crop but the future and dignity of farmers’ families that Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj has protected.
Gratitude of Villagers and Spiritual Perspective
The elders and respected citizens of the village hold deep faith and gratitude towards Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj. Sarpanch Manjeet Ji emotionally stated that in this era of Kalyug, Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj arrived in their village as a divine protector.
Villagers believe that what the government failed to achieve was accomplished by a Saint through selfless service. Elderly farmer Wazir Singh said that such benevolence can only be performed by God Himself. Farmers, labourers, and traders alike have been deeply moved by this humanitarian effort.
Villagers have also appealed to the judiciary and government to allow Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj to remain among society so that He can continue serving humanity.
An Eternal Story of Service to Humanity
The story of Gyanpura village is not merely about draining water; it is a narrative of unwavering faith and selfless service. Through Annapurna Muhim, Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj has demonstrated that true spirituality lies not only in words but in actions.
When disaster strikes, it does not discriminate by caste, religion, or community. In the same spirit, the service of Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj reaches every section of society without discrimination. Today every farmer in Gyanpura feels relief upon seeing their green crops.
Villagers say that these crops are not merely grain but a blessing from Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj that saved the entire village from economic destruction and hunger. This event will stand as a milestone in the field of social service in modern India.
