The National Capital Delhi is set to witness the trials of cloud seeding in the months of May and June following approvals from the Delhi Government. The process of cloud seeding was not introduced for the first time, it came into the limelight in the late 2023s and 2024s as well, in the term of the Aam Aadmi Party Government. Find out why our National Capital needs cloud seeding and how the government has planned to execute this.
Cloud Seeding Process

Cloud Seeding is a simple process to make existing clouds precipitate through chemical substances. Cloud seeding does not involve any formation of clouds. It is the process by which existing non-precipitating clouds are made to precipitate through artificial means.
Cloud Seeding Chemicals
In the process of cloud seeding, chemicals like Silver Iodide, Potassium Iodide, Sodium Chloride (NaCl) and even dry ice (Solid CO2) are added into the clouds through airplanes or rockets. These substances help those clouds precipitate which do not produce rain.

Clouds are made up of water droplets, these substances act as Cloud Condensation Nuclei (CCN) and allow water vapours to stick to it. This process makes the droplets become heavy and consequently it falls as precipitation.
What does Cloud Seeding Look Like
Cloud seeding looks like usual rain, the process of it is explained using the following flow diagram:

Delhi Government Approved 5 Cloud-Seeding Trials
As we already know, air pollution has been a pain in the neck for quite a while now for the capital city. Keeping in mind the government has extended full support by approving the budget of Cloud Seeding planned for this summer. The details of the approval is detailed below in the following points:
- 5 cloud seeding trials
- 5 different locations
- Outlay of INR 3.21 crore approved
- Each cloud setting costs INR 55 lakh.
- Area Covered: 100 Square Kilometre per cloud seeding.
- It is expected that it will be performed on the outskirts of Delhi.
- Observation of Weather Forecast: One week prior
- Scientific evaluation will be used to determine the effectiveness after the trials.
- Responsible Institution: IIT Kanpur
- The operational planning and execution include arrangements of aircraft with required permissions, dispersal of chemicals and scientific modelling and logistic operations.
What Countries Use Cloud Seeding
Cloud seeding is used more than often by various countries across the globe. Cloud seeding is not just used to tackle air pollution, it takes good care of various other issues as well, including drought and water scarcity, boosting agriculture, preventing damage to crops and many others. China has been spending heavy currency while using it quite often. The countries taking use of these phenomenon are tabled below:
Year | City/State | Country | Reason | Result |
2008 | Beijing | China | Prevent rainfall during Olympics Opening Ceremony | Successfully achieved |
2009 | Beijing | China | Snowfall induced to end drought | Successfully achieved |
2021 | Beijing | China | Reduce Air Pollution before a political gathering | Rains induced and pollution reduced |
1983,1984-87, 1993-94 | Tamil Nadu | India | Tackle Drought | Improvement Reported |
2003-04 | Karnataka, Maharashtra | India | Combat water scarcity | Improvement recorded in rainfall |
1990s- Present | Various Cities | UAE | Combat water scarcity | Increase in rainfall observed |
1990s- Present | Alberta | Canada | Control hail damage to crops | Reduce hailstone size |
Since 1960s | Tasmania | Australia | Boost agriculture& Hydro electricity generation | Rainfall increased |
Negative Effects of Cloud Seeding
While highlighting the enormous benefits of cloud seeding, cloud seeding has also gathered some disadvantages also, which are described as:
- Disrupt the Ecosystem: Introduction of chemical based rains can disrupt the natural flow within the ecosystem.
- Heavy Flooding: Induced rainfall can trigger flooding also, if not properly executed.
- Disturb Weather Forecasting: Cloud seeding can alter cloud dynamics and consequently the weather forecasting can also be altered.
- Contribute to Adverse Climate Changes: By introducing carbon dioxide based compounds into the environment for inducing rain, we are making climate adverse by sourcing greenhouse gases.
- Health hazard: Cloud seeding can be toxic to plants, animals and even human’s respiratory systems.
The Arrival Of A Golden Age
Various governments across the globe are making the most of technological advancements like cloud seeding to alter weather conditions based upon their requirement. It is another proof of the fact that humans are just experimenting on the creations of Supreme God Kabir, and still humans think Science is equivalent to God? This is like walking into the den of a Lion without even thinking of what’s coming next.
Various prophecies have revealed the arrival of a golden age under the leadership of a divine man, possessing supernatural powers beyond the imagination of humanity. This golden age will reduce pollution levels automatically, uplift brotherhood, love and harmony among people, curses like cheating, intoxication, bribery and many others will be eliminated from the society.
These prophecies stand true on Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj as He is the only one Who is tirelessly working hard to establish a society which is free from all the social evils. The testimony of His success can be seen in His countless devotees Who have attained unimaginable benefits from Him and gave up all their ill-habits for the welfare of the society.
In order to know more about the arrival of the golden age watch His spiritual discourses daily at 7:30 PM on Sadhna TV channel or you can visit www.jagatgururampalji.org for gathering more info.
