PM Kisan Samman Nidhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has released the 19th installment of the Kisan Samman Nidhi, amounting to ₹22,000 crore, benefiting more than 9.8 crore peasants.
On February 24, 2025, PM Narendra Modi released the 19th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Scheme from Bhagalpur, Bihar. A large number of farmers have benefited from this 19th installment. 2.5 crore female farmers are receiving direct financial assistance of ₹22,000 crore.
To avail of this benefit, farmers do not need a middleman to receive their amount. Farmers of India have benefited from a total of 18 installments under this Yojana.
What Are the Objectives of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana?
The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is a central sector scheme, 100% funded by the Government of India, with funds directly transferred to farmers’ accounts. The PM-Kisan scheme was launched on February 24, 2019.
PM Kisan Samman Nidhi: Under this scheme, eligible farmers receive ₹6,000 per year in three installments, every four months. State Governments and Union Territories identify the eligible beneficiaries as per the scheme’s guidelines.
The PM-Kisan scheme aims to supplement the financial needs of small and marginal farmers.
Benefits of the Scheme
Farmers receive ₹2,000 directly in their bank accounts. The previous 18th installment was released on October 5, and now the 19th installment has been released from a program in Bihar. The government transfers the money via Direct Bank Transfer (DBT).

Last year, 9.6 crore farmers benefited from the scheme. This year, the number has increased to 9.8 crore farmers.
Each eligible farmer receives ₹6,000 annually, in three equal installments of ₹2,000 every four months.
To receive the installments, a farmer must ensure:
Proper verification of land records.
Their Aadhaar card is linked with their bank account.
The Direct Bank Transfer (DBT) option is enabled.
Their e-KYC is completed. Farmers can get their e-KYC done at the nearest CSC center.
