Relief from Waterlogging in Barhana Gugnan The Service of Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj

Barhana Gugnan is a village located in Beri tehsil of Jhajjar district in Haryana. Generally, when we think of villages, images of lush green fields, elderly people sitting at the village square, and children playing come to mind. However, the story of Barhana Gugnan had been like a nightmare for the past 30 years. Just imagine: the very rain that farmers eagerly await has become another name for fear for this village.

The village’s three main ponds—Chali Wala Johad, Keshu Wala Johad, and Bhala Johad—would overflow even after a little rainfall. The water would cross its boundaries and enter the village streets and the homes of poor residents. Thirty years is no short period. An entire generation was born and grew up amid this dirty water, mud, and waterlogging.

With a population of approximately 2,000 to 2,500, the village would turn into an island every monsoon. Water entered homes, streets remained submerged up to the knees, and the most frightening part was that poisonous snakes and insects would crawl into houses along with the dirty water. Children could not attend school. Women were unable to work in their kitchens. The old drainage lines had become completely dilapidated and broken, while government motors had burnt out and turned into scrap.

The village sarpanch and residents had repeatedly approached the administration and government offices with their grievances, but the village’s suffering always remained buried under piles of files. The situation had become so bad that 500 acres of the village’s fertile agricultural land had become completely waterlogged. Farmers could not sow even a single grain on that land, which had turned into a marsh. People were forced to travel miles in search of clean drinking water. But, as they say, when all paths close for a person, the Almighty opens a door through which not only a solution but also a new life emerges.

Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj: A True Champion of Social Reform and Humanity

When the residents of Barhana Gugnan received nothing but disappointment from the doors of the administration and government, they found a place where no petitioner is ever turned away empty-handed—the darbar of Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj.

In today’s self-centred era, Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj has emerged as an embodiment of compassion and kindness. The work he undertakes for the welfare of society is nothing short of a miracle. The ‘Kisan Mazdoor Bachao Campaign Phase-2′, the Shuddh Peyjal Sewa Campaign’, and the Pashudhan Bachao, Shuddh Jal Pilaao Campaign’, being carried out under His directions, have transformed the lives of countless helpless and distressed villages.

Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj does not merely impart spiritual knowledge; He also presents a living and practical example of serving humanity at the grassroots level. Without any government assistance or desire for public display, He is running a major campaign for poor farmers. Poor farmers who own two and a half acres of land or less are being provided with a full year’s supply of fertilisers, seeds, and agricultural medicines completely free of cost.

Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj’s clear instruction is that service should involve no showmanship. Instead, the work should directly wipe away the tears of those who are suffering and make them self-reliant. In today’s Kalyug, where people have become blinded by selfishness, Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj welcomes every needy person to His open darbar without discrimination. Anyone, from America to a small village in Haryana, can approach His darbar with their grievances.

In the true sense, He is a visionary and social reformer Who is laying the foundation of Satyug in Kalyug. His selfless initiatives, such as arranging drainage systems and installing RO plants, demonstrate that a true saint is one who considers society’s suffering His own and is willing to dedicate everything to alleviating it. No amount of praise can adequately describe His extraordinary love and spirit of service.

Details of the Relief Work: The Plea Was Approved Within Minutes

Troubled by the village’s dreadful situation, the gram panchayat and prominent village residents visited Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj’s ashram, Shri Dhanana Dham. Sarpanch Rishipal and other villagers presented their grievances at the feet of Maharaj Ji. The panchayat requested 20,000 feet of 10-inch pipeline, two 20 HP motors, and two RO plants for drinking water, each with a capacity of 5,000 litres.

Usually, such applications gather dust for years in government offices, but the darbar of Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj is different. The villagers presented their plea on Sunday, and the very next day, Monday, a special survey team reached the village on Maharaj Ji’s orders. The team inspected the actual situation on the ground, and by Wednesday, something that seemed like a miracle had happened. Considering the actual requirements, 15,000 feet of heavy-duty 8-inch pipeline and two powerful 20 HP motors were approved.

Moreover, keeping the health of children and villagers in mind, orders were immediately issued to install two large RO plants in the village—one near the village’s Diggi (main stand) and the other in the Dada Bhaiya area, where a school is also located, so that innocent children could have access to clean water.

On the orders of Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj, the following materials were delivered to Barhana Gugnan village overnight:

  • 15,000 feet of pipeline
  • PVC bends
  • Fevicol
  • Air valves
  • Iron plates
  • Slochan
  • Nuts, bolts, and all necessary accessories

The materials were loaded onto trucks and delivered to the village.

Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj has also instructed that as soon as the pipeline is laid underground, both motors will immediately be handed over to the village. This was a relief operation whose speed and precision left everyone astonished.

Emotional Reactions from Villagers: “He Is God to Us“

When trucks loaded with 15,000 feet of pipeline arrived at the village, Barhana Gugnan looked as though it were celebrating a major festival. Women, elderly residents, and young people stood at the welcome gate with drums and other musical instruments. Women sat on tractors, sang auspicious songs with joy, and showered flowers to express their gratitude to Maharaj Ji. The entire village echoed with chants of “Victory to Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj!”

The eyes of the village’s current sarpanch, Rishipal, filled with tears. With a choked voice, he said, “We had been suffering for many years. The old pipelines had broken, and the motors had burnt out. Even a little rainfall forced us to stand surrounded by water. The administration had given up. In such circumstances, Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj has come to us like God.”

When an elderly woman from the village was asked how she felt that day, 30 years of relief seemed to shine at once through the wrinkles on her face. She said, “Son, our homes used to get submerged. Snakes and cobras would enter our houses. Everyone was suffering. Rampal Maharaj has built a protective embankment around our pond and made us happy. May He live long and prosper.”

Another villager, Naresh, became emotional as he explained, “Children going to school had to walk through dirty water. There was always a fear of diseases spreading. The work that the government could not accomplish, Sant Rampal Ji did in an instant. There is no one like Him.”

Young people also explained that 500 acres of land, which had been on the verge of becoming barren, would once again turn green. One young villager also raised the issue of the stadium, explaining how children coming from outside to join the army had to live in rented accommodation elsewhere because of the dirty water. He expressed complete confidence that Maharaj Ji would resolve this problem as well.

Today, everyone in Barhana Gugnan village has just one thing to say: “Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj is not an ordinary human being; He is God Himself.”

Social Impact: Freedom from Waterlogging and Changing Lives

The social impact of this great relief initiative is so extensive that it cannot be adequately expressed in words alone. The most significant change will be in the areas of health and sanitation. For 30 years, dirty water had stagnated in the streets, creating breeding grounds for mosquitoes and increasing the risk of serious diseases such as dengue and malaria, along with the danger posed by poisonous creatures. Now, the water will be able to drain away permanently.

The second major impact will be on agriculture. The 500 acres of farmland in Barhana Gugnan that had turned into marshland due to waterlogging will now dry out. Farmers will be able to sow their crops on time. Farmers who were sinking into debt will once again be able to breathe a sigh of relief and prosperity.

The third and most important impact will be on education and the future of children. Children will be able to attend school without fear and without having to step into dirty water. With the installation of RO plants, villagers, especially schoolchildren, will receive clean and fresh drinking water, helping them avoid waterborne diseases permanently. Livestock will also receive clean water, preventing premature deaths. The entire village will be able to live in a healthy and safe environment.

The Dawn of a New Morning: Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj’s Benevolence

The story of Barhana Gugnan is not merely a news report about resolving a waterlogging problem; it is living proof that when selfless service, compassion, and truth come together, even the greatest social problems become insignificant.

Thirty years of sorrow, 30 years of suffering, tear-filled nights, and countless visits to government offices—all of this came to an end within just three days through the sincere service of a true saint.

This story teaches us that practical action on the ground is far more valuable than promises on paper. Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj has demonstrated that improving society does not depend solely on the government machinery; it also requires a generous heart and sincere intentions. The sounds of celebration echoing through Barhana Gugnan village today carry an inspiring message for the entire country and society.

The innocent smiles on the villagers’ faces and the tears of gratitude flowing from their eyes testify to the fact that as long as such true saints and saviours exist on this earth, humanity can never be defeated.

For Barhana Gugnan, it is not merely the drainage of dirty water that has begun; a new and pure stream of happiness, health, faith, and progress has started flowing into the lives of its residents.
