For a farmer, a field is not merely his land. His hard work, his family’s needs, and his hopes for the future are connected to it. But when rainwater collects in the fields and remains several feet deep, those same fields become a source of worry for the farmer.

A similar problem had existed for a long time in Birdhana  village of Jhajjar district, Haryana. In several areas of the village, rainwater would accumulate to a depth of 4 to 5 feet. This affected crops and created a serious water drainage problem for farmers.

To solve this problem, the Gram Panchayat of Birdhana  reached the feet of Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj with a prayer. The assistance received in the first phase provided major relief in draining water from the village fields. However, some additional areas still required water drainage.

For this reason, the Panchayat submitted another prayer, and the relief work was taken forward under Kisan Mazdoor Bachao Abhiyan Phase 2.

22,000 Feet of Pipeline and Five Motors Received in the First Phase

Considering the waterlogging problem in Birdhana , 22,000 feet of 8-inch pipeline and five motors were provided in the first phase. This assistance helped drain the water accumulated in the village fields and provided significant relief to the farmers.

Even after the improvement in the village’s waterlogging situation through the first-phase arrangement, some areas still required additional pipelines for water drainage. Keeping these remaining areas in mind, the Gram Panchayat submitted another prayer for the second phase.

Requirement of 22,000 Feet of Additional Pipeline in Phase 2

Based on the survey, the requirement in the second phase was also found to be 22,000 feet of 8-inch pipeline and five motors for the village. After this, on the orders of Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj, 22,000 feet of pipeline was provided to the village.

The villagers began the work of laying this pipeline underground according to the designated route. Out of the five proposed lines in the second phase, two pipelines were laid underground.

After this, these two lines were re-surveyed, and both were found to be correct according to the required standards. After the re-survey, two heavy-duty motors of 10 HP each were provided to the Gram Panchayat for these two underground pipelines.

Complete Fitting System Also Provided Along With the Two Motors

The assistance provided on the orders of Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj was not limited to two motors. The complete fitting material required to connect the motors with the pipelines and create the water drainage system was also handed over to the Gram Panchayat.

This included 10 HP Crompton company motors, L&T company starters, 20-foot suction pipes each, cable wire, PVC pipes, iron bands, reducers, air valves, iron plates, clips, joints, and steel nuts and bolts, along with various other necessary materials.

This means that along with the pipelines and motors, all necessary materials required for their fitting, from the smallest to the largest requirement, were also provided.

When the Villagers Said: The Water from Before Was Also Drained

The village Sarpanch stated that the pipeline and five motors received in the first phase provided considerable relief to the village. At a time when the entire village was facing waterlogging, these arrangements helped drain water from the fields and surrounding areas.

After receiving 22,000 feet of pipeline in the second phase, two lines have been laid underground. After the re-survey of these two lines, two motors were provided. According to the Panchayat, three pipelines of the second phase are still remaining.

After these are laid underground and are found correct in the re-survey, the three approved motors for them will also be provided.

Water Drainage System to Become Stronger Through 44,000 Feet of Pipeline

Combining both phases, Birdhana  village has so far received 44,000 feet of 8-inch pipeline and seven motors. The first-phase arrangement has already provided relief to the village.

The two motors provided in Phase 2 will help extend water drainage to the additional areas where pipelines have already been laid underground. The Gram Panchayat and villagers hope that the remaining three pipelines will also be laid underground soon.

After the re-survey process is completed, receiving three additional motors will make the village’s water drainage system even stronger.

Step-by-Step Assistance Increased Farmers’ Confidence

The entire assistance process in Birdhana  moved forward in an organized manner. In the first phase, pipelines and motors were provided. When the need for additional areas became clear, the Gram Panchayat submitted another prayer. After this, 22,000 feet of pipeline was provided in Phase 2.

The villagers laid two of the lines underground. These were then re-surveyed, and after they were found to be correct, two motors were provided accordingly. This system also makes it clear that further assistance will be provided based on the pipelines being laid underground and being found correct. This has created a structured path toward completing the remaining work in the village.

New Hope for Farmers’ Fields

The story of Birdhana  highlights the hope of farmers whose fields have repeatedly been affected by rainwater. The problem of water accumulating to 4 to 5 feet damaged farming. At the same time, the water drainage system now being developed has brought hope of relief.

Under the Kisan Mazdoor Bachao Abhiyan, Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj has provided 44,000 feet of pipeline and seven motors across both phases. This has greatly expanded the scope of water drainage in the village.

The two 10 HP motors provided for the two underground lines in Phase 2 are taking this system forward, while three more motors will be arranged after the completion of the three remaining lines. For the residents of Birdhana , this assistance is not limited to pipelines and motors.

It is the hope of making those fields safe again where farmers used to worry about their crops because of water accumulation. Now, the village is looking toward the completion of the remaining three pipelines so that the water drainage work can become more extensive and farmers can receive greater relief from the problems caused by rainwater.
