HISAR, HARYANA – In the village of Sorkhi, located in the Hansi Tehsil of Hisar district, a period of deep despair has come to an end. After floodwaters submerged nearly 75% of the village’s crops and reached depths of over five feet, a timely intervention by Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj has allowed farmers to return to their fields and resume their livelihoods.
A Village Under Water
For months, the residents of Sorkhi watched helplessly as their homes and fields were swallowed by stagnant water. In some areas, the water was so deep that house walls began to crack and tilt, threatening the safety of families and livestock. Farmers faced a total loss of their hard work, with no clear way to drain the land in time for the wheat-sowing season.
Immediate Relief Without Cost
When the village Panchayat realized the gravity of the situation, they reached out to Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj for assistance. The response was immediate.
Despite the sun having already set when the request arrived, the necessary machinery aid was dispatched without delay, entirely free of cost. The village received heavy-duty motors and thousands of feet of specialized piping to begin the drainage process.

From Waste to Wheat: The Transformation
The impact of the relief work is now visible across the landscape. Fields that were once underwater are now vibrant and green with newly sown wheat. According to the Village Sarpanch and local residents, over 95% of the submerged land has been reclaimed and successfully planted.
The Sarpanch, Ramchandra, noted that in one specific belt alone, roughly 110 acres of land were cleared. Villagers expressed that without this help, they would have faced financial ruin, estimating a loss of nearly ₹35,000 to ₹40,000 per acre.

Voices of Gratitude
Local residents, including Satish Kumar and Ramniwas, shared their relief, noting that the intervention saved more than just crops. It protected their homes from collapsing and ensured their cattle had dry ground to stand on.
For the people of Sorkhi, the swift action of Sant Rampal Ji Maharaj served as a “new sun” rising after a long period of darkness, proving that dedicated humanitarian service can restore a community’s future even in the most difficult circumstances.
One villager remarked, “We have seen many organizations, but to receive this level of help without even asking twice is something we never expected. It has given us our lives back.”
