The Flood’s Havoc and the Limits of Government Aid
For days, Sindhar village was engulfed in floodwaters. From fields to residential areas, water was everywhere.
According to village head (Sarpanch) Sundar Singh, nearly 80% of agricultural land was submerged. The Mahatma Gandhi Colony and surrounding hamlets were also flooded. Villagers kept running from pillar to post for pumps and pipes but received no concrete assistance in time.

Sarpanch Sundar Singh said:
“We tried to manage with whatever little income the Panchayat had, but it wasn’t enough. The government gave some minor support, but it wasn’t sufficient.”
Former Sarpanch Karmveer and villager Baldev Singh described the devastation as frightening. Crops were destroyed, lives were in crisis, schools and dispensaries were shut, and children’s education and health suffered badly.
Beginning of the ‘Annapurna Muhim’ by Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj
Amid despair, the village leaders heard from nearby villages about Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj’s ‘Annapurna Muhim,’ which was providing relief to flood-affected families.
Sindhar’s Panchayat quickly prepared an application requesting 20,000 feet of 8-inch pipe, four 15 HP motors, and 1,500 feet of cable.
Villager Baldev Singh said:
“We came to know that Maharaj Ji was helping people in the flood. So I told the Sarpanch, let’s go and seek His help.”
This application was handed over to the followers of Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj, who immediately assured it would be presented before Him.

The Guru’s Instruction and the Panchayat’s Commitment
Along with the relief, Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj also sent a special instruction letter to Sindhar Panchayat.
He clearly stated:
“No matter how much material it takes, the water must be drained from the fields. If the water is not removed in time and sowing doesn’t happen, the Trust will not provide any further help.”
Sindhar Panchayat accepted this directive.
Sarpanch Sundar Singh assured:
“On behalf of the entire village, I assure Saint Rampal Ji Maharaj that all the materials will be used properly. No matter how long it takes, we will make the land cultivable again before sowing.”
The story of Sindhar village Reflects an Extraordinary Help
